"Warming up Please wait" error

I am working on a Dell 1600n laser. It restarts itself several times when powering on and eventualy gets stuck on the message "Warming up Please wait". Some times it won't do any start up functions and displays a solid shaded line on the display. If I disconnect the scanner wires from the system control board it knows enough to display a "locked scanner message". I am thinking the Power supply board needs replacing? Any diagnostic help and/or parts locating help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem, but it sounds like it is feeding paper and the roller where the paper comes out keeps rolling.

Suspect the toner heating element (fuser) may be malfunctioning. Dell may be able to walk you through a "hard reset" that involves opening the front door, turning on an off the printer with certain buttons held down, etc.

How do I repair an "open heat error"?

I'm sure it's not the answer you're looking for but the "Open Heat" error is related to the printer's fuser, switch mode power supply or temperature control thermistor. More than likely it's the fuser which needs replacing and you'd need to contact Dell for a replacement. If you google for "1600n fuser" you'll also come up with several retailers with fusers in the $80 range as opposed to Dell's $140+.

Dell 1600n I replaced the toner and can't get the "replace toner"

After you clear out the print que (double click on the printer icon on your desktop), power down the printer, wait 20 seconds and power it back up. The "replace toner" should clear after the sensor detects toner in the hopper AND the new chip in the toner cartridge registers with the "brain" of the printer. Hope that helps!

Open heat error

Open heat error is a fuser error. If you have plenty of clearance around the printer and you are still getting this error, it is the fuser.

Dell 1600N warming up message

Hi Unplug the printer power cable from the wall and disconnect it from the printer as well. Turn the printer power switch on for 15 seconds. This will reset the printer. Turn the printer power switch off and plug the cable back in on both ends. Then turn power on. The Document Jam error should be eliminated.

Please keep in mind you must check for any small pieces of paper or look for a real paper jam prior to completing the steps above.

I hope that helps.

Dell 1600N Multifunction printer problem.

Fuser issues - if problem is reoccuring then you are looking at more expense, are all vents free of obstructions (folders leaning on machine sides/rear) is machine being flogged, is power supply consistent, maybe even fuser bought was faulty, many options, try doing a warranty claim on fuser or replace again, even better get another printer, welcome to our throw away world!
