How can i reboot my computer please

Rebooting a computer means, pressing the Reset/Restart button. But if you wish to securely restart it, click Start (Windows XP) and then "ShutDown" button, again click "Restart". There's another option when Windows XP is in Classic mode, once you press the Shutdown button, you'll see a small window showing "Shutdown", you can click the arrow button next to the "Shutdown" and then select "Restart", now click the "Ok" button to restart the system. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, click "Start", if you don't see the "Restart" button, you might be seeing the "Shutdown" button, just next to the "Shutdown" button, there's a small right arrow button, click it and select "Restart". Your system will restart.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.

How to reboot a dell dimension pc

The answer depends on your operating system.

Windows: Click on the Start menu. For Windows XP, click on "Shutdown" and select the Restart option. For Windows Vista/7, look for the power icon ( the partial circle and vertical line), click-hold on that and scroll to Restart on the pop-up menu to the right (it's hard to see on some Desktop backgrounds).

To force a restart if you can't get it to work from the Start menu, type -- to bring up the Task Manager. Select Shutdown from its options.

Linux: Look for the power icon (upper-right corner of screen) menu. Click and select your option there.

Last-ditch methods: Hold the power button in for about five seconds. This will usually do a hard shutdown. Any unsaved changes in open files will be lost, and the operating system will complain about being improperly shut down the last time it was used. Pulling the plug will do the same thing, but it is a bit more wear and tear on the computer than the power button method.

How to reboot my laptop

You question is too short, I have trouble assuming it. Anyway let me try my best to make you understand.
1. If you want to reboot your laptop as soon as it starts up, just press ctrl+Alt+Del on the keyboard, before you see the windows logo start screen. It'll automatically reboot itself.

2. (windows xp), Simplest method is press Alt+F4 and then click Restart f7428f1.png

or if your desktop is set to classic menu, the click on the "shutdown" and select "restart" as shown below;

3. For windows 7, click start, then click the right arrow ">" just right to the "shutdown" button and select "restart"

Shutdown problem

From the Start button, select menu/programs/accessories/system tools/system information, then click on the tools menu and select system configuration utility.

When the program opens, you'll see an advanced button on the bottom right corner. Press it.

Make sure you have disabled fast shutdown (CHECKED). Press OK/OK. If it prompts for restart, don't do it, you dont need to. Press cancel on that screen and then shutdown like you would normally.

Let me know if it works

Computer won't restart or shut off

Hi,
I had the same problem & I'm running the same OS. It happened after an update too. This is what I did. I made a new shortcut on my desktop for shutoff & restart, I just use this shortcut now & it works OK. If you want to try it this is how I did it...

XP Users:
1. Right click the Desktop and select New /Shortcut.
2. A screen will appear asking you for a Command Line. Here's what you put in that box: ( it's best if you copy & paste this into the box)

For Shutdown:
Shutdown -s -t 0

For Restart:
Shutdown -r -t 0
