Kitchen Aid Superba refrigerator

Water is dripping out of the small faucet in the front- the water dispenser. I looked to see how it works but nothing is directly touching the button that engages when water is dispensed.
I do not even know how to turn off the water until it is fixed

Water is steadily dripping out of the water tube in my 1997 Kitchenaid Superba KSR250FWH00 - 2 big buckets a day. The dispenser light works but no water (except the drip) or ice. My ice maker works except I can hardly close my freezer door because there is a big clump of ice on the inside of the door. What can I do to fix it?

Had the same problem. Turned out it was a worn out valve that controls water distribution. Remove the back panel. There is a (in my case) blue part with one water line coming in and two water lines coming out. This houses an electromagnetic control which directs water either to the dispenser, or the ice maker. I took it apart a few times, and didn't see anything wrong, but ordered a replacement, easily switched it out and viola! No more leak. Ordered the part online for less than a repair visit.

Turn water valve off behind frig thie will of course turn off ice maker, but will solve water mes problem then work on source

Water drippin out of dispensor w/o depressing plunger is generally a result from air pressure inside tubing pushing water out, might be a faulty water inlet valve not completly shuttting after use, od a crack in the tubing, generally around the tank resovior, located in refrig sect behind crisper,ice inside frrezer door flap is def a sigh of warm air rushin into freezer you door flao is not sealing correctly

The black panel that runds down the side of the refrigerator between the freezer and food storage area is very hot. also the small light in the freeezer is blinking even though i have it turned off

Water dispenser leaks all the time.

Hi,the leakage in your kitchen aid all the time is due to the fact that the water inlet valve of your refrigerator,hence water keeps dripping from the dispenser always.
The only solution to the problem,is to remove the back plate which covers the compartment at the bottom of the refrigerator and replace the water inlet valve.
However,the component part number for your model is; 4389177

Water Dispenser not working

Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws
disconnect the line to the water dispenser at the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in and try the dispenser. if you hear the valve work but water doesn't come out, the valve is bad. If you don't hear the valve, the dispenser switch is bad.

Leak in the water dispenser

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

To stop the dripping now, turn the water off.

The problem is there is either mineral caught in the seat of the dispenser valve, or the dispenser valve seat has a bad place in it. Removal and cleaning/replacement is required.

Ice maker not filling with water

I have a model KSRG25F and found that the solenoid that controls the water to the icemaker was not working. I tested by switching the water dispenser connection to the ice maker coil.
And then had the wife push the water fill in front of the fridge. I had aready changed out the control board in front because I didnt have the flash codes or solid led when simulating door closed. the parts is about $55 and hope that does it. Good Luck

Kitchen Aid Ice maker Stopped working

I would suggest not buying a KitchenAid. I have the same problem with my ice maker. Have had nothing but problems with every KitchenAid product that I have ever owned. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.
