Is your BIOS. password protected? If so you will need to remove the CMOS battery for about 5 min. plug it back in and you should be fine. Let me know if you need more help. On Lenovo (IBM) website there are dropdown with 3 types for the R50e i.e 1834, 1842 and 2670 meaning once one of the 3 is chosen , you will be able to choose the Model and then the Operating System....have you done that so that you get the right d'load?
Alterantively you may be having problems installing it due to an anti-virus program or not having the right application/program to run open the driver package, in what ever extension it is in, i.e .exe, .rar, .zip
