dvd (message: “cannot read, please check disc” w/enter symbol, which doesn’t
respond & quickly leaves). When trying to copy on EH75V, message is “Cannot

I have the EH75 also and just had the same problem with the DVD not recognizing any DVD and making the 6 beeps. Tried cleaning with a DVD disc cleaner, even opened up the case and the DVD component, cleaned with a can of air, reassembled, but still the same problem.

same as described - Panasonic offers repair for $139 - I wonder if in fact this is a problem typical to the unit after a certain amount of usage.same as described - Panasonic offers repair for $139 - I wonder if in fact this is a problem typical to the unit after a certain amount of usage.

You can try downloading free players onto your computer as long as your computer has installed DVD drive, such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, RealPlayer, 5KPlayer, etc.
I would say for some reason your dvd player is not compatible from now on with that brand of blank dvd!
get the firmware update from the brand website all you do is download the file burnit on a cd and put it in the dvd player should fix most and eventual problems

Try a different manufacturer/brand of DVD-recordable disks.
If you still have the problem, then your drive is malfunctioning,
and you need to get a qualified technician to disassemble your computer, and replace it.
Got the same problem. Happened 2 months after guarantee expired. **** machine. The only good thing is the harddrive and that is made by HITACHI not Panasonic! I go Sony next time. Panasonic quoted £200 plus to fix the problem. I only paid £220 when I bought it new.
I have got exactly the same problem. Thought I had found some discs that worked as the first one formatted, since then all have come up with that crappy error protection message. Samsung really should sort this out.
This is a common problem with the Lite-on LVW range of DVD recorders
due to changes in the construction of more recent DVD R media. It can
be solved with a relatively simple firmware upgrade.
