Oven does not turn off

I have just gotten a Kitchen Aid Gas Range from my brother in law. He says it works great except for one issue. The oven will not shut off unless you unplug it or flip the breaker. Any ideas? It is either a KGRA806, KGRK806 or KGSA906 model from 2004.

I have the same problem with KGSA906PSS01. What piece of sh.. As someone suggested the problem with central control unit. I can't locate this part when I look at the catalog, instead there is part number: 9761942 Control, Migration. Is this the same part. I have had so many problems with this unit and they start appearing right ofter the warranty expired.

    For a temporary solution:
Press the "Cook Duration" button, then the "1", then the "Start". After it shuts off in 1 minute open the door to clear the display.

I'm having the same problem with model KGRK806. There's asking for $221 for the control panel part and another $180 for labor.

** If you want to continue using don't unplug or flip the breaker. Instead set the cook duration for 1 minute and it will auto shut off.

The Electronic Oven Control (EOC) is probably defective. I have experienced this problem before and it was directly associated to a shorted relay on the EOC board. The board is not serviceable and must be replaced. I will need an EXACT model number to be able to determine the correct part, however. The model number can be located somewhere around the oven door opening (usually along the bottom drawer), or along the back of the unit (behind the control panel). Since prices can vary widely between models it is important to have this information. Post back with your information and I can help you further.

The control board (called a Central Control Unit, CCU) on your model runs about $97 and the part number is 1181828. You can find this part at The part will be shipped directly to you for small shipping fee. They use the same parts as most of your major appliance repair companies and charge much less. I have used their service several times and have never been disappointed. I hope you find the website informative and I hope I have been helpful to you.

My kitchen aid YKERC607 oven, bake, broil does not work. oven top works however

If it is an electric range, it would be a control issue. If it is Gas, it could be ignitor or safety valve.

Kenmore oven about 8ys old. The top works fine. When i turn the oven on the glow from the pilot light is visble. then nothing except strong smell of gas. Help. thanks Michelle

The glowbar ignitor has gotten too weak to light the gas.
Replace the ignitor.
Unplug the range.
Turn off the gas ****.
Remove the oven racks.
Remove the bottom oven pan.
Remove the flame spreader grate.
Remove the ignitor and replace it.
Make sure the new ignitor is wired correctly.

Kitchenaid gas range keeps beeping intermittantly, oven turns on by itself and code F2:E1 keeps comiong up on pad. What is the problem

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F2-E1 in your Kitchen Aid range indicates shorted keypad. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

GE Profile Spectra XL 44 gas oven

If you can smell the gas when you turn on the oven, it may be on a separate igniter that has gone bad. I would check this first. If you are not getting gas to the oven, there is possibly an issue with the supply line.
