Question about Garmin nuvi 350 GPS Receiver

Audio problems I have a Nuvi 360 which began experiencing audio problems. First, the sound became garbled then the audio stopped working. Is this a software or a hardware problem?

I have a Nuvi 350 which began experiencing audio problems. First, the sound became garbled then the audio stopped working.

Steps I've taken to try to solve the issue:
    1. Made sure the battery was charged.
    2. Pressed reset button and tried again.
    3. Tried using headphones.

The sound works with the headphones, so the speakers have failed. I have seen several postings of speakers failing in the Nuvi 350. I will need to send the unit back for repair.

Steps:

1. Make sure battery is charged. Go to Step #2.
2. Press reset button and try it again. If still bad, go to step #3.
3. Try using headphones.

By using the headphones, you are bypassing the internal speakers, which might have failed. If the sound is still missing, the mostly like problem is a defective audio output stage on the motherboard.

Since this unit uses surface mount technology it will have to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair.

In either case, you will need to send the unit back for repair. Be sure to have your serial number handy. Register it online https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm

Sound on one channel from over the air antenna has suddenly become garbled. All others are fine.

If only one channel is affected it is not a problem usually with the set--it does not know what channel you are on---look in audio menu and make sure if set has SAP it is not on.
