When i leave my computer for a while, the screen goes black and i cannot re activate it by pressing any keys or the mouse. I have had to turn it off and restart it which obviously the best. Any ideas?
You need to go into your BIOS and set your power management to default, and then go into windows and set your power management (under "settings") to get it to do whatever you need it to do. For example, if it hangs on standby, and you have in your settings that it is supposed to go into standby after 30 minutes, you can disable the standby to get rid of the problem. A side note: Have your hard drive turn off after about 10 minutes or so. Otherwise you are just wearing it out for absolutely no reason at all, and HD power up times is less than a second or two. Hardly noticeable.
On most computers, you can resume working by pressing your
computer's power button. However, not all computers are the same. You might be
able to wake your computer by pressing any key on the keyboard, clicking a mouse
button, or opening the lid on a laptop. Check the documentation that came with
your computer or go to the manufacturer's website.
