Kenwood Tuner Frequency Steps Problem

Hi,
I have a problem with my Kenwood KDC-MP5033 unit. I made a reset to it and since than my tuner frequencies (in manual tuning mode and in auto tuning as well) steps are too big. For instance, I can go to 87.9 FM or to 88.1 FM, but I can't set it to 88.0 FM. Actually, I cannot set any even frequencies (96.6, 91.8 etc). I can only set odd frequencies (96.5 or 91.7) and the steps are by 0.2. If I recall it right, I didn't have this weird problem before... Is it a known bug? Is there any way to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Misha Pletinsky

Ok, I found the solution. Apperently the unit is set to the American radio system. To transform it to the European system, you should turn it off, press 1+5+SRC until it will turn on again. And that does the job.

Hello there! I have Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X592 and I'm having the same
problem - only the remote control has numbered buttons on it.
There are no numbered buttons on the front panel of the receiver. Is
there a key combination for such receivers?

    Thanks!

I have a car stereo purchased from the US and I can’t pick up all radio stations in Europe/UK, what can I do?

If you have purchased a car stereo from the US you will find that it
will not pick up many European radio stations. This is due to the fact
that US radio frequency steps are different to here in Europe.

You may be able to set the tuner to European stations by following this procedure.

Press and hold down the SRC button to power down the unit completely.

While the unit is off press button 1 & 5 together, while momentarily pressing the SRC button.

    If this does not work try the following proceedure;

Press and hold buttons 1 and 5 together, while momentarily pressing the reset button.

If this does not work then the unit is not designed to pick up European frequency steps.

How to program frequency 8113.5 on my Furuno FSS1503 Single Sideband Radio Telephone?

To program a specific frequency on the Furuno FSS1503 Single Sideband Radio Telephone, you can follow these steps:
  1. Press the Power button to turn on the radio.
  2. Press the Frequency button to select the desired frequency range (HF, MF, or VHF).
  3. Use the arrow keys to select the desired frequency (8113.5 kHz in this case).
  4. Press the Enter button to confirm the frequency selection.
If the frequency is not working, there may be other factors affecting the radio's performance, such as interference, atmospheric conditions, or a faulty antenna. It is recommended to use an antenna coupler or tuner to optimize the radio's performance and ensure proper transmission and reception. If you are still experiencing issues, you may need to consult a professional technician or the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance.

I took the battery out of and now my Kenwood Stereo asks for a code.

Reset the radio by pushing the small button on left side of the #1 preset. it is probably pulling the code for the anti theft protection. if you already have a lock code use it to unlock the tuner otherwise reset the tuner

Tuner error

Use a multimeter to check for connectivity to the sirius. Where did you mount the antenna? Maybe its a reception problem? Sounds like the head unit is going bad. Try shutting it down, and take the pace plate off, let it reboot and see if it works. Check to see if the Tuner is unplugged.

Very weird Radio Tuning Problem

This is a USA model and by default in the USA all FM stations end in an Odd number. This is completely normal. you can try holding preset 1 and 5 down while pressing the reset button on the unit and it may allow you to switch to a Europe style of tuning.
