If you want to reset the router to its default log in , the only way to do that is to manually reset the router by pressing the reset button of the router for 10 seconds while power is ON and after that the log in of the router will be back to its default log in the username is blank and password is admin

I have a netgear router and im not connected

Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net/ or http://www.routerlogin.com./ Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed. If you cannot log into your router: Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings. If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and Clicking Apply. If there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings.

When i put in default username and password says its not authorized

Try admin in user anme and admin in password.
If that doesn't work then try admin in only password, leave the user name blank.
If that doesn't work then try some different passwords that you use often.
If nothing is working then you will need to reset the router.
Once you reset the router, you will lose all the settings on the router and you will need to reconfigure it.

I have a WRT54G router and want to daisy chain a Linksys BEFSR41 switch off it, but I seem to be doing it wrong...

Not sure if you just want to expand the amont of computer you can connect to it or the wireless range but I would setup the BEFSR41:
  • Disable DHCP
  • Set an address out of the DHCP scope of the WRT54G
  • Connect them LAN to LAN if not use xover to connect them

Hi
Warning This will RESET to FACTORY DEFAULT

There should be reset hole with a button in it if you press this and hold it in. count to ten then release, this will reset it to factory default setting.

If you are not wanting factory reset you will have to login to the linksys the default IP is 192.168.1.1 login name admin password admin.. that is you havent change it. and from there you can find your settings and change them..

Good Luck

Linksys router limits speed to 5 meg.

Try to access the router's setup page and change the MTU settings. The default address for the Befsr41 is 192.168.1.1. Here are instructions:

1) Use a computer wired to the router.
2) Launch a browser and type in 192.168.1.1, leave the username blank and the password is admin or the password you have set when you first configured the router.
3) Click on the Advanced tab then click on the Filters tab. On the bottom part you have MTU.
4) Enable that option and set MTU to 1500, 1400, 1300 (for cable ISP connection) and 1492 (for DSL connection) and check if it will work.
4) If that does not work, you can try upgrading the firmware of your router.

Try reseting it, to do this hold the reset button on the back for 30 seconds, this will reset the router to factory defaults and your username and password will be admin.
