Green Screen on an HDTV

My Sanyo HT32744 32" hdtv is having color problems; it seems to be fading to green. Is there any way to fix it without knowing about TVs, or better to go buy new?

I too had the same problem where my HT30744 TV would lose its color. My mom's HT32744 would have the same problem too. They both are refurbished models bought at Value City Dept store. If I gave the cabinet a good hit it would mostly fix the color, but it could also make the picture go fuzzy too, a clear sign of just a loose connection somewhere.

So after my wife telling me she was sick of this almost 2 year problem and she was going to buy a new TV on the weekend, I figured I had nothing to lose. So I took the rear cabinet off, unseated the card mounted on the picture tube, applied a little dielectric grease on the connector on the card and reseated the card, removed, re-greased and reattached the card. I have had no problem with either my or mom's which I did the same to since! This is an easy fix that anyone can do. The hardest part is moving the TV and reassembling the rear cabinet. Do not pull the cabinet back out more than you have to, to ease the reassembly of it.

I do not believe there is any easy fix to this. The problem may be either in the picture tube or the related circuitry. The worst case scenario is the tube itself is failing. However, it could be as simple as a defective connection on the pc board at the tube for example. You may want to get a technician to check it out and get an estimate before you buy a new set. Good luck

I have the same problem with mine. This may sound strange, but I placed a fan along the side of the tv, I have had no problems since. I believe this may be a heat related problem.

Simple test is go to a black and white channel and turn color to zero= is the screen black and white or some other color?

Also go to a unused video input and look at screen=all you should see is black screen with the input number in green= any other color and something may just need to be adjusted.

Color fade

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.

Flashing Green

I would guess that your problem is similiar to mine but mine is with the color red. The CRT went out which is a 400 dollar part and who knows how hard to fix.
