It has probably been a while since you set up the security
options on your Linksys router, and chances are, you've forgotten or lost the
WEP key.
Luckily, you can easily recover this security code when you
need it.
A base computer and a printer are required for this task.
Open a Web browser on your base computer.
Navigate to the Linksys setup menu by typing
"http://192.168.1.1" into the browser's address bar and pressing "Enter."
This is the router's LAN address.
Locate the "Security" tab near the top of the window.
Clicking on this tab unlocks your WEP code, so to speak the code is now displayed on the screen.
Print this screen by clicking "File" and then "Print" on
your browser's toolbar.
Verify that the entire page printed correctly and that no
digits are missing from the end of the WEP key.
If any numbers are missing, fill them in.
Type in your WEP key when prompted by the wireless setup
screens on other computers in your network.
This will allow the computers to access your local network
and the Internet.
Return to the base computer and close out of the Linksys
setup screen by clicking the red "X" in the upper right corner of the
application window.
