Jukebox won't play record- Wurlitzer 3200 Americana 2

If your Wurlitzer 3200 Americana 2 jukebox is not playing records, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the power supply: Ensure that the jukebox is receiving power. Check the power cord, connections, and any fuses or circuit breakers that may be relevant. Make sure the jukebox is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet.
  2. Clean the record player mechanism: Over time, dust, dirt, or debris can accumulate on the record player mechanism, causing it to malfunction. Carefully clean the mechanism using a soft cloth or a gentle brush to remove any dirt or particles. Be cautious not to apply excessive force or damage any delicate components.
  3. Check the needle: Examine the needle (stylus) on the record player arm. Ensure that it is intact, clean, and properly aligned. If the needle is damaged or worn out, it may need to be replaced. Consult the jukebox's manual or contact customer support for guidance on needle replacement for the Wurlitzer 3200 Americana 2 model.
  4. Adjust the tonearm: Verify that the tonearm is properly balanced and set at the correct tracking force. Refer to the jukebox's manual for instructions on adjusting the tonearm. Incorrect tracking force or balance can prevent the needle from making proper contact with the record and result in playback issues.
  5. Verify record selection and loading: Ensure that the jukebox has been properly loaded with records and that the correct record selection has been made. Check if there are any obstructions or misalignments in the record selection and loading mechanism.
  6. Seek professional assistance: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's recommended to contact a qualified jukebox technician or the manufacturer's customer support. They will have specific knowledge of the Wurlitzer 3200 Americana 2 model and can provide further guidance or arrange for repairs if necessary.

Record player repair

The top arm that swings over the spindle will control the automatic return. Leave the unit off. Swing the overhead holding top arm over and manually load a record. Now switch the top arm over the niddle spindle. Make sure that the switch is set for 7", 10" or 12" (45, 78, or 33). Manually place the tonearm at the start of the record and flip switch to 'play' (not reject or auto). It should play the whole record and automatically eject at the end and then shut off. Leave the arm swung over the middle after you loaded the record. Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I Know The speakers work because the radio and tape player are fine. The records, however, you can only faintly hear on full volume. I followed the instructions about removing the plastic shield from the...

Hi Kathy, record players put out a very low level signal, you need a phono input stage for the amp to handle this input. If your amp does not have a phono input, many new amps do not ( check your instruction manual) .. then you will need to buy a phono pre amp which will match the record player to your amp. You can get this from your dealer.

Hope this helps

Record player sounds scratchy and tinny

Playing records is a contact sport.

Since the needle touches the record -- as opposed to a laser reading a CD -- any bit of dust or mold translates to annoying pops and hisses.

Record cleaners get down into the record grooves to extract dust and particles.

Or you may need a new needle.
