The remote has a mind of its own when in the iPod mode. It behaves itself when in the music control mode. Navigating between menus is virtually impossible and I invariably end up playing the last album in my list. And how does one selct to play a different track after navigating to it? For me it always plays the previous track. If it isn't the remote it must be me not grasping something simple. Ah well, c'est la vie. Regards, Ray Corfield

Do you mean that your PD100 adapter doesn't recognize your new ipod touch?
If yes then i would suggest you to only use the adapter which has been given to you with the ipod touch.Do not use anyother one.If you don't have one it is better to buy another new adapter.
I've just been struck down with this too on my newly purchased MM-E460D. I think I've worked it out, its just a poor description and manual. iPod mode" means choose the music off the iPod via a connected TV whereas "Remote iPod" is choose the music off the iPod via the Samsung remote and also directly from the iPod interface. I've been there for days trying to get "iPod mode" to work via the iPod interface.

Wow! Sounds haunted! Seriously though, if your remote is behaving erratically the best thing to try first is a complete re-programming including a firmware update. To stack the deck in your favor, I would even put the remote in 'safe mode' and then do the updates. Here's how: Launch the Logitech Remote software on your computer and click on "Downloads" (on the top menu bar). Then, take the battery out of your remote and at the same time you connect the USB cable to your remote (it should be already connected on the computer end) press and hold down the Off button at the top of the remote. This will put the remote in "safe mode". Continue to hold down the Off button until you see the message "safe mode requested" on the remote's screen and the screen starts blinking. Release the Off button and go back to your computer and click on "Firmware". An update to the remote's firmware should be executed. Then, you should be prompted to update the remote with your device/activity configuration. If all goes well, this may solve your problems. Good luck!
You can purchase the KCA-420i and connect it to to the ai-net port behind the headunit. This will allow you to send signal from your ipod to your alpine headunit while still retaining your operating functions to the ipod. Can be purchased for about 10 bucks on ebay.
