I have one installed in my boat that I just bought. It seems to be stuck in set mode, can't get it to tuner mode to listen to radio. Also is there a plugin for a mp3 player?
Thanks

Bill, did you ever figure your issue on your "no sound" problem? I'm having the exact same issue with a used car I bought that has this same stereo in it. CD plays and has sound, tuner shows its on but no sound. ????
Any DIN style radio will fit onto the existing cut out.
Stay with Sony CDX family. The connect and color code will be the same.

Do you still has the remote control for this Sony CDX-C5005? This remote has an "ATT" (almost like mute) //// lower left hand button. Aim the remote to the radio and press the ATT button and see is the volume restore to normal. Click HERE (skip to page 6) for a sample picture of the remote.
If you know someone who may have a set of keys you can borrow I would try that first, most keys are about the same. OR you could try using 2 butter knives, slide the butter knives on each side of the radio (left and right) and wiggle them around until both sides are unlocked, then carefully slide the knives out (be careful not to let the radio lock back into place.) The radio should slide out fairly easily.
I have the same head unit and disconnected from the battery.
There was no input code required when reconnecting the battery
You should be ok! I can't help with your Tuner problem though!
Good Luck!
To my knowledge, it would take two types of B+12 supply to turn on the unit; a constant/always on +12 on the yellow wire and a switched B+12 on the red wire (such as from the ACC terminal of the IGN switch.
If both B+s above are present and the grounding (black wire) has been verified to be connected to the chassis/ground, then it is an internal fault of the Sony CDX-F50M. This of course require that the unit be un-installed and diagnosed/check/repaired.
Absence of any of the two B+s would require tracing where the supply is not present. A DVM wold be handy for the check.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
ok well listen to the radfio make sure its on tuner and wait for like thirty seconds then try to eject it while listening to the radio cuz mine is almost the same see if that works
