Make sure the wireless power switch on the right side (next to the USB port) is turned on.

If you recently purchased your notebook, wifi may not be enabled. There is typically a switch on the side to enable the wifi card. Locate that and make sure it is on. Also Fn+F8 should activate and deactivate your wifi. Hope that helps.

There's a little slide switch on the side of the laptops body, on the right hand side on mine. Make certain that it's on the "On" position. I had the same problem, and i found out that i had turned the switch off.

I cant get my lap 2003 laptop to connect to the wireless inter-net and the cd/dvd drive door will not open

Check if your wi-fi is enabled. if it is, then it should have a remark that WIRELESS NETWORK is available and have a link to CONNECT. then you will be prompted for a password if connection is encrypted.

Your cd/dvd door might have stuck up for long time of not using it. Gently push it while pressing the eject button. It should eject manually.

Regards!

Satellite a65 problem with atheros wireless driver after XP Pro SP2 installed

Hi,

Perhaps what is required is to install the drivers separately and use those from the manufacturer, Toshiba. Incidentally, there are 18 versions of a Satellite A65, which one is yours pls? (Versions start from S1062...S1762).

Pls start here and select Portables, Satellite, and A65 + Version, then click on "Show Results" button.

Alternately, you may want to jumpstart and try this for the RTL8139 and/or this for the Atheros WiFi. Both are for Windows XP.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Hard drive wipe issue

It appears you have some kind of web access so I woulld start at the Toshiba site to look for drivers and download to an optical disk for installation into your laptop.
Most public libraries have terminals and on request, on your cost, they will burn a CD for you or allow you to burn one on your own blank.
Those drivers might also be already on whatever Toshiba disks supplied with the system.
