Canon mp390 stoped working with computer. error initalizing out put device, shows up or it'll state that it's printing the the printer is not responding. Iam able to use the printer with out the computer. I change the ub cord but nothing has changed.
I had a similar problem with a Multipass F30 - check that the Canon Service "mpservice" is running. In the situation I had it was set to automatic, but the service was stopped. You can locate the Services by going to the Control Panel, then Performance & Maintenance if you are using catagory view or directly to Administrative Tools if in Classic View. Double click on Administrative Tools and then open Services. Scroll down and locate mpservice to see if it is running. I hope this helps.

There are many things that can cause that, the error number is listed with the NG code. Could be the fax on the other end not responding, bad phone connection, improper setup like the setting for pulse and tone dialing. or using a digital phone line instead of analog.

Try: Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter 1) Enter SERVICE MODE.--- By pressing Menu-Copy-# 2) Select TEST MODE. 3) Select  PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE. 4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR]. 5) Select 0. [INK COUNT]. 6) Press the [OK] key. 7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.
