Canon mp390 stoped working with computer. error initalizing out put device, shows up or it'll state that it's printing the the printer is not responding. Iam able to use the printer with out the computer. I change the ub cord but nothing has changed.
I had a similar problem with a Multipass F30 - check that the Canon Service "mpservice" is running. In the situation I had it was set to automatic, but the service was stopped. You can locate the Services by going to the Control Panel, then Performance & Maintenance if you are using catagory view or directly to Administrative Tools if in Classic View. Double click on Administrative Tools and then open Services. Scroll down and locate mpservice to see if it is running. I hope this helps.

i am having a similar problem. I recently relocated and since i have set my computer up again it hasnt been able to print. I get a message that the printer is not responding. I have unplugged and secured the cords and opened the ink carriage a few times to see if there was something unseen jammed in there, but nothing. Now I am concerned cuz I need my printer for a project I want to do. Any suggestions? I tried what you suggested in the previous posting, but I didn't even see the MPServices listed in the listing of services. So, now what?
