Won't recognize scanner when installed

I've connected the scanner to the computer and installed the software but the balloon pops up when I plug it in that the installation did not work. Any suggestions? The software won't find the scanner and it's not in the scanners folder in my computer.

    The computer is a Gateway GT 5028 running XP Home. I have had this scanner connected to the computer in the past and it worked great. A couple of months ago the motherboard went out and was replaced under warranty and now I can't get either the Microtek 4850 scanner to recognize, or the scanner portion of the Brother MFC 440CN. I installed the Microtek on my laptop and it works fine so I know it's something w/ the computer. The Brother scanner never really worked well on the Gateway but it would install, now, nothing. I have no idea where to go from here, it says all the drivers are current and wont load any others. When I ran the Driver Detective it says some of the Nvidia drivers need updating but I'm afraid to do that for fear of screwing up the motherboard. HELP!!!!!!

    I have a Epson new Stylus Photo All In One RX595,it will copy from computer to scanner ,from bed to printer,but will only copy to computer from scanner if I connect to scanner in control panel and then use wizard to connect fine.I have went into search and removed all Twain ref.'s.downloaded twain driver's from Epson,un-installed and re-installed from disc,twice,but still fails to be recognized by O.S.This problem occured with an earlier All In One and I never dealt with it,due to wear and tear and machine failure.

    What brand and model of computer are you using? What operating system....Windows XP? ...Vista?

First, make sure your computer has been updated to at least Windows XP Service Pack 1....Service Pack 2 is even better. You can check this by right-clicking on my computer and selecting Properties from the menu. If you're using Service Pack 1 or earlier...it would be a good idea to run through the Windows Update process a few times.

Try downloading a new Scan Wizard file from this page on the MicroTek web site. When you do the install, it should remove any previous drivers and clean things up.

If this doesn't help, try to find the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard...usually located under Start>All Programs>Accessories. It may work even if the MicroTek software doesn't.

How do I get the scanner to work on my computer

your printer probably has a software to install.

this software has the mode to scanner and to scan. the pc has a printer connection right? and.... how to scan should be on the software for the printer. it recognizes the printer and it's looking for a scanner, this is why is telling you scanner connection under the scanner connections but if the use is with the printer as a scanner, it must've a software. maybe the printer a scanner button so the pc recognizes it as scanner.

Kingston microsd using usb adapter is not recognized on laptop (vista premium 32bit) and on hp desktop (win 7)

Have you checked the drivers for the usb adapter. plug it in and go to my devises and up date driver see if that fixed it. vista software may have a problem as they are not updating there software files. but win7 is fine has same filing as xp.

Scanner is disconnected or Turned off.

Try going to manufactures web site and downloading drivers for the printer from there. Also you might check your device manager to see if the unit is being recognized by your computer. it should show up iunder USB or Printers. I had an Epson that did the same thing but mine was a wireless and I had to re-establish coneection and go through setup again to have my IP address recognized. Most of the time plug n play will pick up the new device.

You might also try running security and windows updates on your computer, there might be an update that is keeping the computer from recognising the printer anymore.

Its just a start of what could be going on, hope its an easy fix.

My computer won't read the new camera I've got. Even after installing all info from cd. Have tried camera and it works on tv. It won't let recognise the device on problem either. What can I do?

A camera that works connected to a TV without software is not the proper device to connect to a computer. Check again with your packaging and instructions.
Having a camera working on the computer and then porting the video signal to a TV monitor is the preferred arrangement.
Install the software, reboot, then connect a PC camera, it should be recognized and be testable on Skype, etc.

My scaner says to check connection, but I'm not sure which connection?

Most scanners connect to the computer using a USB cable. The computer must recognize the device on the other end. So too mus the scanner see the computer.

Unplug the USB cable from the computer and wait about 5 sec. Plug it back in and you should hear a connection sound, and the software will have a pop up that shows connected.

Hi,

Plug the camera's USB cord into a free USB port on the computer, if this hasn't been done already. After giving the computer a moment to recognize the camera, a balloon will pop up saying new devices have been found.

Insert the web camera's installation CD, and wait for the installer to appear. Click "Next" on each window as needed to install the software. If the installer does not automatically appear upon inserting the disk, open "My Computer", right-click on the CD drive, click "Explore", then open "setup.exe".

Launch the web camera software, which can normally be found in the start menu under "All Programs". Test the camera to ensure it is working properly.

New installation 810, printer works A1, scanner won't work

Uninstall and reinstall the software. Normally the software installed on the computer controls the scanner functions for the all in one dell stuff. Check dells site also for any updates that might correct this issue.
