Unfortunately D-Link no longer provides detailed specifications for this unit on their web site. It may be necessary to replace the hub with a low-cost 10/100 ethernet switch.

I'm trying to determine which AC/DC adapter to use with this device. Apparently the VDC should be 5-9V, is there a minimum/maximum current that you are aware of?

500ma (1/2 amp) should be fine.. It's imaterial if amp rating on power supply is higher, as the device will only use what it needs. A higher amp supply will simply run cooler as it not being demanded to run at capacity.

I can't 'find' my network printer when it is connected through the D-Link hub, but it is visible when connected direct to the router. The light on the hub flickers constantly when I plug the printer in to...

A "router" supplies an IP-address to a connected device, such as a printer, but a "hub" does not supply IP-addresses.

So, connect your printer to your router, and then access "Control Panel" and then "Printers" and then "Add Printer", and choose "add networked printer".

Lost Power Adapter for Unicom Mini-switch/8 8 port

method 1: buy a power adapter that has a switch controlled output voltage - they usually have 3V - 4.5V - 6V - 7.5V - 9V and 12V selectable output. Start with 6V and if its not working unplug, select 9 and try again etc. etc.

method 2: open the case and locate an electrolytic capacitor right near the power plug - the biggest one. Note the voltage (for example it may say: 1000uF/15V) and have in mind that your device MUST work at a LOWER level that this.

you can combine the two methods to be safe...

Sony Trinitron KV-27EXR25

Just this week I had the same problem. If you are hearing a click responding to your pushing on the power button then it is more than likely a short that is preventing the problem. In my case it was a matter of dust.
I fixed the problem by opening up the back of the set and blowing all the dust out. There was a ton of dust accumulated on the circuit boards over the years. Once the dust was cleared I check to make sure the power fuse was not blown and it was fine. I then closed it up and it turned on without a problem.
My Sony is over fifteen years old and it still works like a charm. Its not HDTV, but it works great. When it finally goes; then I will buy a much bigger flat screen HDTV.
Good luck.

Connecting 2 PCs Via the D-Link Hub

Hi Ajog,

Those Ips look good. Make sure the Subnet on both is Since they are both getting to the internet, I assume the Gateway IP is correct.

On the, got to Start>Run and type in CMD. A black window will open, and type in PING You should get four responses. If you don't, you probley have a firewall issue.

Do that same on the machine, back to the machine.

On the XP machine, follow these instruction, just skip down to Step 9.

Vista gets a little tricker, but not bad. To setup the network on the Vista machine, go here, ad click on the Network icon.
Great link to save to your desktop!

Using the network wizards should setup your firewalls to allow File and Printer Sharing.

Good luck
