Blank Monitor I have had my monitor for a few years and all of a sudden, I get a BLANK screen. The green light is on, but no one is at home. I can see an image for about a second and then nothing. If I cut the power on and off, I see an image for a second then gone again. What is wrong with my monitor? Repair or replace??

Since you have tried another monitor with your computer, then we can only assume that your LCD monitor had gone bad.
If the light is green but you can't see anything on the screen, then most likely the backlight has gone bad. Unless you want to take the monitor apart, I would suggest buying a new monitor.

Acer AL1912B, the screen is blank and the green

The problem ca be bad back light inverter circuits, bad power supply because of bad caps, bad lamps. More likely to be bad caps, see example of failed monitors because of bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Monitor is blank. Green power light is on steady.

Self test failed means Monitor is bad.

Check input settings, whether DVI mode is selected.

Screen Goes Blank

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

Dell monitor shows blank screen, green power light stays on

Hello,

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htmYou can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should workfine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one thesame way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

ViewSonic LCD (VA1912w) Went Blank

ViewSonic LCD (VA1912w) Went Blank

I am using this great LCD for about an year. But few times in the past my LCD didnt show up the display though the Green light was still ON, turning off the LCD and opening it again always solved the problem. But now My LCD completely went blank. Turning off/on didnt work at all now. I've tried couple of other tweaks mentioned on this site but they didnt work. I am just seeing a blank screen with green light ON. and ya theres a very low hissing sound coming from the LCD.

Monitor powers briefly then goes blank

Sounds like a Control board issue or a Power board issue... Might be blown Capacitors, in which case there is not enough power being supplied. Check to see if there are cheap parts on Ebay as replacements. If you don't want to go through the trouble sell the LCD itself for $150-250.

Blank Monitor

Try your monitor on another computer, just to make sure it's the monitor and not a video adapter problem in the computer. It may be possible to fix it if you can find a reliable computer or TV service shop nearby. However, the cost may not be worth it for a 2-year old monitor. Unfortunately, the best solution is probably to buy a new one. : (
