I bought a Dymo label printer several months ago and just attempted to set it up for use. The ac adapter shows a blinking green light, however there is no light on the printer, and it does not appear that any power is getting to the printer. Also when I installed the software, but computer was unable to detect the printer. Would you advise buying a new ac adapter? Thanks. Glo

The Dyamo Labelwriters come with a 2 year warranty. There was also a recall on the power adapters about a year ago. You may want to contact Dymo support to find out if you adapter is covered under this recall.

If you only purchased it a few months ago then why not return it...? They generally come with 3 year warranties, so unless you bought it 2nd hand you should be fine...

Dymo PC 10 electric label maker. Looking for cables?

Are you sure is is a 'PC 10'? I can't find that model. All the ones I have used were battery operated desktop use or hand held. Is this a cable that connect the label maker to a PC, so you design on the computer and print to the Dymo? If that is the case, It _should_ be a standard printer lead.

Dymo 4XL Label Printer 10% of the time fails to print, says "Dymo 4XL is in an error state" and nothing happens.

If you're experiencing an "error state" with your Dymo 4XL Label Printer, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
  1. Check the connections: Ensure that the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer is securely plugged in on both ends. If using a USB hub, try connecting the printer directly to a USB port on your computer.
  2. Restart the printer and computer: Power off the printer and disconnect it from the power source. Restart your computer as well. After a few moments, reconnect the printer to the power source and turn it on. Wait for it to initialize.
  3. Update the printer driver: Visit the Dymo website and check for any available driver updates for your specific printer model. Download and install the latest driver software for optimal compatibility.
  4. Clear any print jobs: Open the print queue on your computer and ensure there are no pending print jobs for the Dymo 4XL. If there are any, cancel or remove them.
  5. Verify correct label settings: Double-check that you have selected the correct label size and settings in your printing application or software. Ensure that the label size matches the labels you are using.
  6. Check for obstructions or label jams: Open the printer and inspect for any obstructions or label jams that could be causing the error. Remove any stuck labels or debris, if present.
  7. Reset the printer: Locate the small pinhole on the back or bottom of the printer. Insert a paperclip or similar object into the pinhole and press the reset button inside for a few seconds. This will reset the printer to its default settings.
  8. Contact customer support: If the issue persists, it's advisable to reach out to Dymo customer support or consult the printer's user manual for further assistance. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or provide guidance specific to your situation.

I have a Smart Label Printer 100 that I haven't used in 8 months. I tried using it again and I cannot get the power to come on. I tried to plug in to several different outlets with no luck. Not sure why it...

Sounds like there's a problem with your AC adapter. If you have another Identical AC Adapter (same connector, output voltage and amperage), try it with your Smart Label Printer. If it works its your AC Adapter. You can confirm the fault by checking its output voltage and amperage with a multimeter

Light is blinking and won't print labelsbet

If you like my solution, please give me 4-thumbs up rating.

Why is the light on the front of my Model 330 LabelWriter blinking?

There are 5 possible reasons for this:
  1. The labels are not left-justified
    • Verify that the labels are left justified and loaded properly in the LabelWriter. Click here for more information on loading the labels in the LabelWriter.
  2. There is paper dust or a piece of a label blocking the sensor
    • Take the roll of labels out of the printer and use the provided cleaning card to clean your unit. Click here for more information on using a DYMO Cleaning Card. You can also use compressed air by blowing some air along the left side of the paper path inside the printer.
  3. The labels you are using do not have the index marks properly cut out between each label
    • If the index holes are not cut cleanly, you may run into this problem. Try a different roll of labels.
  4. You are not using DYMO labels
    • If you are not using DYMO labels (or are unsure whether or not you are), please obtain a roll of DYMO labels and try to print again. DYMO labels are made specifically for our printers.
  5. The photo sensor that reads the index mark has failed
    • If this is the case, the unit will need to come in for repair. Select the Ask A Question tab at the top of this page to contact our Technical Support team. Please include the following information so that we can set up a Return Material Authorization (RMA) for you:
      • Full Name
      • Full Shipping Address (No PO boxes)
      • Phone Number
      • Date of Purchase
      • Model Number (a 5-digit number found on the bottom of your LabelWriter)
      • The 11-digit number under the barcode on the same label
      • Serial Number (located on the bottom of the printer, starting with "S/N" -- it also contains a dash after the first five numbers)
      • If your unit is out of warranty (beyond 2 years from the original date of purchase), please provide us with a method of payment (including expiration date, if using a credit card). The cost to repair your unit is either $75, which includes UPS Ground return shipping, or $90 for UPS Next Day Air return shipping. Please let us know which return method you desire.

What is the life expectency for these? Mine doesn't come on even with the AC plugged in

We've had our Dymo 330 Turbo for years and still use it daily to print all our address labels - never had a problem with it. They come with a 3 year warranty, so I guess Dymo thinks they're going to last at least that long.

If the power supply has had it you can get a replacement power adapter but if the machine has had it then time to get a new one I think.

The 300 series was discontinued years ago, and even the 400 series has now been discontinued and replaced by the Labelwriter 450 series.

This is the error message when openning the Dymo Software on Server 2008. We have openned this same softare successfully on other 2008 Severs. Exception EPrinter in module Labels.DLL at 0000643E6

http://global.dymo.com/enGB/Troubleshooting/LabelWriter_320.html

From this site.

    • The error message: "Exception Eprinter in module LABELS.DLL at ...." is displayed.
      or
The error message: "Access violation at address ... in module DYMOLBL.EXE" is displayedA. This problem can occur when DLS 7.x was installed over DLS 6.x, without first uninstalling DLS 6.x.
      Solution:
      Delete the file Dymolbl.ENG.
DLS will still work, however, all default settings will be incorrect.

The settings will need to be set correctly.
On the DLS menubar, click Preferences and set the preferences as desired.
      The default values are:
Default label file folder should be set to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\DYMO Label\Label Files"
Default address book folder should be set to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\DYMO Label\Address Books"
Default clipart folder should be set to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\DYMO Label\Clipart"

      B. An incorrect printer has been selected in the DYMO software.
      Solution:
      1. Start the DYMO Software.
      2. Click on File and point to Change printer.
      3. Click the LabelWriter model connected to the PC (e.g. Dymo Turbo)

      C. Occasionally, double-clicking the print command button in the list manager is not handled properly by the software.
      Solution:

      Single-click the print command button.

      D. An incorrect driver has been installed.
      Solution:
      Run the DYMO Driver Uninstaller
Restart the PC and install the correct driver.

To remove and reinstall the printer driver:
      1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to Settings and click Printers (& Faxes).
      The printers window is displayed.
      2. Double-click the LabelWriter icon and delete any documents waiting to be printed.
      3. Close all programs.
      4. On the Windows taskbar, right-click on Start and click Explore.
      Windows Explorer is started.
      5. Double-click the file C:/Program Files/DYMO Label/Support Files/LW Remove.exe
      6. Unplug the LabelWriter's USB connection from the back of pc and click OK.
      7. Choose Select all and then remove.
Once the driver has disappeared from the printers dialog box, click Close.
      Restart the PC.
      8. When Windows has restarted, on the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to Programs, point to DYMO Label and click Uninstall DYMO Label.
      9. Reconnect the LabelWriter to the computer and reinstall both driver and software.
