No. The cribs being recalled are made by StorkCraft but any crib with a drop side that has plastic parts could pose a problem. Make sure the side latches securely and that the space between the side and the mattress is not large enough for a child's head to get trapped.

This crib was not recalled in the nov 2009 recall but it has been recalled now. It was recalled in Feb 2010. It was recalled because the plasic parts break and children can suffocate. The CPSC also stated that the mattress suport can detach from the head board creating even more of a risk There is more information at www.CSPC.gov and search crib recalls for childesigns.

Pinhurst crib serial number 380123035 po 3767, need to know size of bolts and screws to attach bed frame to

Hello, Mary -

Are you asking about a Pinehurst model crib made by Babi Italia and imported from China by LaJobi? If so . . .

That model of crib was recalled by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission in 2009. Read the information here:
https://cpsc.gov/Recalls/2009/lajobi-recalls-babi-italia-pinehurst-and-bonavita-hudson-drop-side-cribs-risk-of

By the way,
(Quote)
. . . LaJobi is no longer in business and repair kits are no longer available for recalled LaJobi products. Any LaJobi-made products that have been recalled should be discarded or destroyed.

Someone who is "crafty" could choose to re-purpose the crib into something else, like a bench.

Best wishes.

Where can I get the "fix it" parts for the recall

It's not legal to sell an item that has been recalled. All simplicity cribs with metal mattress supports have been recalled.

I have a drop side Kinderkraft crib that is approximately 7 years old. I would like to use this crib again. Is there a crib kit that I can obtain in order to keep the railing up permanently?

The simple answer is, no.

Kinderkraft is out of business. The company had multiple problems with lawsuits and recalls. Subsequently, Kinderkraft changed it's name in 2002 to "Baby Furniture Importers, Inc." but still went through Voluntary Dissolution during the same year.

There are no official recalls on the CPSC Crib Information Center website; however, I would, in the best interest of your child, toss the crib in the trash bin and get yourself a new one! Almost all drop side cribs have been recalled and the manufacturers have been responsible for making crib specific kits. The cribs whose manufacturers have gone out of business are sometimes able to be returned for store credit; however, in your situation with a crib that is over 9 years old (as far as being made, since the company has been gone since 2002), I would toss it!

Since the massive recalls, cribs have been redone and you can get a great and attractive crib for as little as $150 delivered to your door for free from Amazon.

mkd123.jpg Anyway, I have done a whole lot of research on the crib recalls and even though there was no official recall of Kinderkraft cribs, they are out of business and the word on the street is that they are unsafe. I figure that's enough!

Can't find model # or serial#

I fudged it, a little. Got a model number from the alert, and used it on the manufacturer's website. Model number here:
http://pregnant.thebump.com/new-mom-new-dad/baby-gear/recalls/safety-alert-massive-recall-on-graco-and-simplicity-cribs.aspx
And don't waste time calling, use the link here:

to fill out the form to get the repair kit.

Is this crib recalled wm-1633-0

Storkcraft had a recall on some of their cribs.IF it is a Storkcraft you have to call them and give them the model number.
These cribs were made between May 2000 and November 2008.They were sold until Jan.2009.
Even if your's isn't a Storkcraft you should be able to call the manufacturer of your crib and ask them.
Storkcraft, for one,did not post the model numbers that were recalled.
The manufacturing date can be found on the lower right hand corner of the instruction sheet which is glued on the mattress base.
The cribs were sold in various styles and finishes. The manufacture date, model number, crib name, country of origin, and the firm's name, address, and contact information are located on the assembly instruction sheet attached to the mattress support board. The firm's insignia "storkcraft baby" is inscribed on the drop side teething rail of some cribs. For more information, consumers may contact Stork Craft toll-free at 866-361-3321 anytime to order the free replacement kit or log on to the newwindow.gif firms Web site.
These cribs have had recalls as well:
Jenny Lind crib model 6982 with lot numbers 8021, 8024, 8025, 8052, 8053, 8055, 8056, and 8070 and model 6983 with lot numbers 8022, 8023, 8026, 8027, 8031, 8032.
Aspen 3 in 1, Aspen 4 in 1, Nursery-in-a-Box, Crib N Changer Combo, Chelsea and Pooh 4 in 1. The recall also involves the following Simplicity cribs that used the Graco logo: Aspen 3 in 1, Ultra 3 in 1, Ultra 4 in1, Ultra 5 in 1, Whitney and the Trio.

The recalled cribs have one of the following model numbers, which can be found on the envelope attached to the mattress support and on the label attached to the headboard: 4600, 4605, 4705, 5000, 8000, 8324, 8800, 8740, 8910, 8994, 8050, 8750, 8760, and 8996.
13 babies in the US alone died as a result of the Simplicity cribs...in Canada most of them were sold in Zellers...but don't try to take it back there.
pinehurst.jpgLaJobi and CPSC announced two recalls for 4,900 cribs.

First, 2,000 Bonavita "Cabana" cribs were recalled for slat failure -- the slats can come loose and/or break. LaJobi had ten reports of slats coming out of the rails and six reports of slats breaking.

Also, 2,900 Babi Italia "Pinehurst" cribs and Bonavita "Hudson" cribs were recalled for drop side failures.
Step 1 Register your baby crib as soon as you bring it home so you will receive product recalls automatically. Usually manufacturers ask you to register to validate warranty information but this will also register you to receive product recalls.
  • Step 2 Check the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website regularly for recall information. This is a dependable resource that many consumers are not aware of.
  • Step 3 Visit your crib manufacturer's website occasionally and type in your crib name or number under their search option.
  • Step 4 Monitor the recall website www.recalls.gov that constantly updates recall information on all consumer products including baby cribs.
  • Step 5 Stay up to date with current news reports and printed media outlets. They are often the first to announce safety recalls and possible product issues.
