I have the same problem with the same model. I noticed that this problem only occurs on the analog inputs - can you check the pc or dvi input to see if the problem exist? If it does not happen with dvi or pc I would think there maybe a problem with the analog output board - any help would be great.

Thanks for your time!

Hello,

This is most probably a faulty DMD chip, because of the snowy effect, if it only happens for some seconds then it might need replacing. Normally this does not go away, have you had any repairs done to this TV recently?

Vertical lines on my Samsung LNCT4665FX HDTV LCD

When you watch T.V. the plasmas run off of plasma gas and when you leave something on for so long it burns in the screen. I have the same T.V. and when watching like the weather channel it leaves lines but they go away. If yours are permanent then you can't do anything, but it may help if you go on your remote and go to "menu" then look for "setup" and scroll down with the arrows on your remote. Look for "screen burn protection" and select "white screen". This will make your whole screen white and it may take out the lines. If you let it sit white it won't hurt it. All one color won't hurt, the only thing that hurts is like bright white lines in front of a dark background. Just give your T.V. a break from time to time ESPECIALLY ON VIDEO GAMES. T.V. shows that are HD usually have their channel icons that move or are very dim and they won't hurt. Just go to what I told you and let it sit about 20 minutes, if that doesn't help, then the T.V. you have i believe comes with a 2-year standard warranty and if it's under warranty take it back if you have the reciept. If no reciept then call 1-800-SAMSUNG.

Philips 42 inch Plasma television

I habve seen this issue with this sets and if the vertical lines are in the menu as well and there are more than one line the panel would need to be replace. Contact a tech in your area to see if then can put the set in white screen mode and leave it there for a couple of hours and see if the lines go away. If not then the set would need a panel.
