I have an Intuous 2 Graphics Tablet, Model XD-0912-U, that does nothing when connected to any Mac computer running OS 10 (I've tried several computers). The tablet worked one time only when it was brand new. Unfortunately, it then sat in a box till long after it was out of warranty. The tablet power light goes on when connected to the USB port, so that workls, but neither the mouse nor the pen gets any response and there is no indication that the computer "sees" the tablet at all.
I've downloaded latest driver, plugged tasblet into the Mac's own USB socket but although tablet appears in System Prefs, it isn't recognised so not operational, although light on tablet glows.I've downloaded latest driver, plugged tasblet into the Mac's own USB socket but although tablet appears in System Prefs, it isn't recognised so not operational, although light on tablet glows.

Hi know this is some months on but have just read your article! If you haven't solved this problem it may be something to do with having the incorrect driver. You could look up Wacom's website as they detail driver codes in relation to the Model No. of the tablet.
Also you might try disconnecting your usb cable after booting your mac, I've noticed myself that sometimes my tablet and mouse is not recognised (I'm using OSX10.4.9 on a G5 dual) but after unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in it works fine, so this may be just some kind of bug that hasn't been fully addressed in the actual driver software itself? Anyway I hope this helps in some way, good luck!

On the mac, it was an interaction with the 'Inkwell' handwriting recognition software. I turned that off in System Pref's. It may have actually only been the check box 'in any application' rather than completely off.
So Starboard works great now!
thanks
Hello, you have to update the tablet driver for every client using it... As the tablet is USB, it needs the driver updated on every Mac. If you need the Standard accounts to have the updated driver, you can temporarily change the account settings in the System Preferences to Administrator privileges
How do I restore my Intus2 grip Pen on my Wacom tablet when it stops working due to various reasons; hitting the edge of the tablet area, drawing errors, etc.? I keep having to restart program and computer to restore it. Kinda a pain when it happens continuously. I am working in CS4 on Mac OS W vrsn 10.5.6. I am having this problem working in CS4 Illustrator probably would happen in Photoshop as well. Any solutions for resetting pen without having to restart each time??
