I have an xbox 360 and it will play the disk but no sound i tryed every thing to the AV cables to buying a console eye cleaner disk and it still dont play sound im thimking its my sound card but im not sure cause it will play fine with my old xbox 360 game like PGR3 game but when i go to play skate 2 or tomb raider underworld it wont play sound and will glitch and i had the games check out on my friends xbox 360 console and they worked fine how can i fix my problem?

yeah its the sound card same thing happened to me but with my graphics card. i went to play n trade and they fixed it for $70 and it took 1 week dependong when you get there (try to get there before Friday, cause the person that fixes the xbox's comes)

If you have tried replugging in your av cable and power cord than the only thing i can suggest is take replace the AV cable. You can get a really cheap AV cable on ebay, I'm talking about less than $10. One other thing it may not even be your av cable but your tv.

Sometimes the heads need to be cleaned and the disk as well! Try using dishwashing soap and warm water on the disk and dry it very well with a cotton cloth or eye class cleaner. Purchase a cleaner from your local electronics store the the XBOX. Hope this helps.

try another tv to ensure its your xbox and not tv input. also look on your av cord there is a small switch on it make sure it is in the proper position hd or tv.

The main reason why its acting that way its possible that the AV PORT is faulty.

to fix the E 74 problem, i sudgest going to http://llamma.com/xbox360/repair/ring_of_light_x-clamp_fix.htm. they have a step by step solution for both the red rings of death(3, and 1) or the E 74 error. i sudgest buying the kit they sudgest, its $29.99 or so. then just follow the step by step instructions when your kit gets to your house

THINGS TO TRY

1. Make sure that the AV cable is correctly connected to the Xbox 360 console.
2. Disconnect the AV cable from the Xbox 360 console, and then reconnect the AV cable to the Xbox 360 console.
3. If the four flashing red lights continue to flash, try wiping the metal area of the AV pack with a dry cloth. The metal area is the end that plugs into the console. Wipe the metal area thoroughly, and then try the AV Pack again.
4. If the AV cable is correctly connected but the four red lights are still flashing, substitute a different AV cable if you have one available.

where you put the cables for the sound and picture if you look on the end where you plug it into the xbox 360 you will see a little switch it has HD and TV on it depending on what your tv supports (HD ready TV) (normal TV) switch that switch to what TV you have (e.g. HD TV, switch the switch to HD) if that doesnt work then try checking that you have all the cables in the right ports if you have pluged the HD cables into a normal TV then this is not going to work, check cables and check the switch!

common problem, the disks arent clean, clean them with rubbing alcohol, nail poolish, eye glass cleaner. if they are new disks then u were ripped off, go back to place of purchase and tell em.

Try opening the disk tray with the 360 off. Push a paper clip into 1 of these holes in your 360. It will pop the tray out. Grab the tray pull it out all the way. Put a game in, leave it open! Then turn your 360 on see if it boots the game.
