It does not have an HD or ATSC tuner. But it does have HD resolution inputs - ie HDMI and component video (RGB) so effectively it is HD

RCA Guideplus gold gemstar analog or digital

Most of the RCA GuidePlus Gold gemstar TVs worked with analog TV signals (NTSC) only. The Guide+ information was only broadcast in NTSC signals and is no longer being provided. If you can check the date of manufacture of the TV, you can use the size to check if it had an ATSC tuner added if it was made for the US market. 37"+ TVs had to have a digital tuner in second half of 2005. 25" TVs needed to have the ATSC tuner after March, 2006. The next year all TVs had to have a digital tuner.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of the TV, if you would like me to confirm the tuner information on your set.

(The RCA F31317 TV with Guide+ was manufactured in 2000 and thus only has a NTSC tuner.)

I was just given a 36-inch RCA Gemstar Guideplus Gold TV. I do not have cable and am unable to tell if it is digital or not. I've been told it is less than 6 years old. It is a tube TV.

RCA made only two 36" televisions between 2004 - 2010 and neither one of them have digital (ATSC) tuners. They made ZERO CRT televisions before that with digital tuners.

Can anybody help me disable the Guide+ on my 52" RCA TV?

When you first turn your cable tv on go to the customer menu and turn off the G+, you should find it in your set-up section.

RCA Home Theatre Projection TV

Your ICs are bad that control the Convergence. I would quess that the ICs that they have used before have been the cheaper versions. Sanyo are the best the cheap ones only last for a while then need replacing. The sanyo chips cost considerably more than the imitation ones but are worth it in the long run.
