Question about Televison & Video
There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

I've the same situation with the lp2407 and it is bad caps as DarkAngell suggested.. You can go to badcaps.net and look for troubleshooting displays under Gateway 24" LCD Model LP2407 and you will even see the list of parts you will need and where to order them.

I have the same issue, but a different problem. I can't figure out how to get the back off. Any suggestions?
After removing all the back cover screws the lid has snap retention take a plastic or wood and work your way around to unsnap the cover.
