1992 Eagle Talon 2.0L DOHC Overheating

Looking to buy a 1992 Eagle Talon 2.0L DOHC FWD from a guy who lives about an hourand a half away. He says it overheats, and he is missing a hose to theradiator, according to him, it's the hose that connects to thethermostat...

This doesn't make ANY sense to me, any ideas on what i should ask the seller, or should i just leave this one go?

Does it sound like he's telling me BS and this car may have more problems then just needing a hose, and possibly a thermostat?

If the hose to the thermostat is missing then there is no coolant in the engine ! Check the engine oil. If milky whhite, walk away as its likely the head gasket leaks or the cyl head is warped.
If coolant is present, the thermostat may be stuck closed (rare, but corrosion in the coolant over time can do this). This can cause over heating.
Thermostat & hoses are relatively easy and low cost to fix. The cylinder head gasket isn't so easy or cheap.
