With usb kvm switch this is a very common issue , as fixjd said unplug the cable and dont plug it in again till 30 sec. Now restart it and it should work perfectly
Did you try unhooking the power cable from the KVM (not just turning off) ? Leave it out for about 20 seconds and try it again.
Whenever there is a problem with electronics products like kvm switch, usb extenders, video splitters, video converters. You should not only turn them off as a resolutionary measure but also unplug the, as most of these peripherals gets charged and unplugging them breaks the connection completely.
