It's better and easier to just replace the whole touch pad assembly and top cover. It's all one piece...much easier and cost is the same.

This is the part number:
457616-001

Touchpad will not turn off

you may need to re-download the drivers from the hp compaq website, there are also other programs you can download that do the same thing as that button.

Hi. The colour on my HP/Compaq 6820s laptop is a bit dull in comparison to my second extended Samsung monitor. I want to adjust the colour settings on the laptop, but all I can find on the keyboard is...

If you right hand mouse click on your desktop picture, a menu will become available. Click on Screen resolution and then Advanced settings. There will be options inside that window to allow you adjustment of the display.
Hope that helps.

Can i get a new replacement touchpad for a compaq 615 VQ628EA?

Yes NO problems. You need to remove old one, and get the serial number of the unit, use that to get a new one. Also eBay and Craigslist, can have these too.

My Hp Compaq 6820s don't start when I press power button.

This simply means that the battery is dead. Pull the battery out and try to start it again (with the power adapter plugged in obviously). If it starts up, you need a new battery, if it does not start up you may have a bad power adapter or broken power jack.

The wireless button should be located on the top left part of your laptop. It will be the 3rd button from the left.

"sticky" mouse on compaq laptop

Unless your left mouse button has been severely damaged, it is unlikely that a loose button is the cause of your problem. More likely, it is your touchpad. Chances are your touchpad is set to click when tapped. Oversensitive touchpads can click randomly when you're dragging your finger across the touchpad.

To test this, position your cursor over a link (or other button) but don't press the left mouse button. Instead, lightly tap the touchpad itself. If the link or button is clicked, go to your Control Panel and adjust the Mouse options so your touchpad no longer clicks when tapped. It's usually a setting titled "tap to click" or something along those lines.
