AT&T phone model E5634B

I have the above model and I'm having trouble with one of my handsets. You can call out on the handset but for some reason you cannot answer any calls. I have checked the oweners manual and nothing addresses the problem. I tried a new battery and that didn't help either. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bobbie

Same as problem stated, on Handset #4.

It's only one of my handsets too! I can answer calls, but no one can hear me! I can hear them just fine. It's the same with the intercom feature. I can hear the intercom page and pick it up, but no one on the other end can hear me speaking. Replacing the battery does not solve it.

SOLUTION to AT&T Cordless Telephone/Answering System 4 phone set Model E5634B - Cannot answer incoming calls nor does caller ID work on phones.
Unplug the base for a few minutes, plug base back in, remove and reinsert the battery on each phone that does not work, then place each handset in the base for few minutes. Worked for me...all 4 phones can be answered and caller ID works!!! Hope this works for you... :o)

How to register hs

It would help to have the model number of the base ( found on a sticker on the bottom of the base ) and the handset (under the battery) but the following works for many models: Press and hold the "Find Handset" button until the "in use" lamp comes on. Press the
"#" key on the handset, then place it on the base... if it is going to work, in a minute or less it will chirp and announce "handset registered". If it shows "registration failed", the base may be "fully populated" and cannot accept another handset: many models are limited to only 5 handsets. To start over by clearing the base registry, press the "Find Handset" button until the "in use" lamp
lights, then continue to hold "Find Handset" until "in use" begins to
blink. Release, then press again the "Find Handset" button for a moment. The base should chirp, and be ready to register handsets again... try again as above until the maximum is reached. Good luck!

Batteries won't charge

There are a few reasons why a battery won't charge. Make sure that the contacts on the phone and the charging cradle are clean. (Unplug the base or charger.) A pencil eraser is good initial cleaner; electronic contact cleaner sprays are a second option. Remove the battery and check the contacts inside the handset and the battery as well. Next replace the battery pack. If you add a comment with your phone's model number, then I can try to find the correct battery. (Stores like Battery Mart may have a compatible battery.)

The final possible problem is that the charging system is bad. If your phone has multiple handsets, try a different charger. If the phone allows you to add handsets, try getting a new handset. The new handset will come with a new charger. (I've never seen the chargers sold without the handset but you could try Uniden customer service. If the base station is the only handset cradle, you'll probably need to replace the phone if a new battery and clean contacts don't work.

If your Uniden phone is under warranty, contact the company.

I hope this helps.

I have just inherated the at&t e5634b phone system. I have replaced the batteries in the hand sets. As per the manual I have de-registered each hand set. The problem is that when I register the...

This problem can be caused by the following, A bad battery, (which you say you are all new). A full base memory and a Faulty main base unit
This main base unit can only expand to four handsets and no more. If the base unit has been reset then the assigned numbers for each handset would begin with " handset 1" if they show any other number when reset then it would not have been reset..To re-set main base you will have to
De-Register All Handsets
Unplug the power supply from the base unit then Remove all handsets from the charge cradles and base then Press and hold the PAGE button on the base.
Plug in the power supply again while pressing the PAGE button, Continue pressing PAGE until the IN USE and CHARGING indicators are lit. (this could take up to 10 seconds)
Release the PAGE button All Handsets will display "enter base id".
If this does not solve your problem then you will have to replace the main base

I have a panasonic cordless phone, model kx-tga820. for some reason both handsets now say that it is busy when i push the talk button. Our other phones are ok. Why?

Hi,

If you get busy tone in your Panasonic KX-TGA820 cordless phone, it may be due to any one of the following reasons:

1)The called handset is in use.

2)The handset you are calling is too far from the base unit.
Check whether the base unit is not so far from the handset

3)There is no handset registered to the base unit matching the extension number you entered.
Try to re-register the handset to the base unit again, To know details regarding registering and re-registering, please refer page 38 of the manual, which you can download from the link given below

4)Other units are in use and the system is busy. Try again later.
Try to check whether the other units are not using your base unit

You can download manual for your phone from the following link for reference

Philips dect 521/525 - 3 year old phone - No dialling tone on one handset

I had the same problem and my hubby managed to reset the phone by simply unplugging it from the electical network. Just wait for few minutes (the date goes back to 1 Jan 2005), then plug it again and try to dial a number. It should work.

I can not get the handset to charge. Tried a new battery and all solutios in manual

This happens pretty regularly at my house. The solution is pretty simple. I take the batter out and put it back in and put it back into the cradle.

I have four kids at home and the phones are banged around quite a bit. I think the battery just loses a solid connection to the terminal points.

Now, can someone help me find a way to get my teenagers to implement this fix when they hear the battery beeping because of low battery?

Cheers,

Mike
