It take more than 3 minutes to connect on line,plus the computer moves very slow

Without any further background, I'll be taking a stab in the dark. I have seen this behavior on facebook before and the cause was too much latency in the internet connection; that can be caused by a slow connection from the ISP (internet service provider), a gummed up router, or a poor wireless connection. Therefore, if you are using a wireless connection, try to establish a better connection ( move the computer or wireless router so there is line of sight between them or less things between them); if not wireless then try resetting all of the network hardware between your ISP and your computer (modem, router, switch).

• Is everything turned on?
• Is the blue light, inside your Magic Jack dongle, on? (Note that the Magic Jack Plus should have a flashing red and green led as well.) If you use the older model you might need to connect it through a powered hub to ensure the device receives enough power to operate properly?
• If this is a new installation, is your internet service and computer capable of handling the requirements placed upon them by Magic Jack?
• Do all your connecting cables appear to be firmly attached?
• Are you watching Netflix, downloading or streaming files at the same time you are attempting to place a call?
• If you are using the Magic Jack Plus, does the system report Error 3002?

Next, you should ask yourself what recent changes you have made to the computer/Magic Jack software? What recent upgrades have you performed to your hardware? Could this have effected the performance of your Magic Jack?
If your difficulties persist, it is time to divide and conquer. Google a 'you tube' link and watch the video. If you cannot connect to the internet, consult your internet provider for assistance. If the video is choppy, the internet connection might be too slow or bogged down. Perhaps your computer is too slow or requires maintenance. If you cannot hear sound, you might be experiencing problems with your soundcard or sound drivers. You should check Control Panel/Sound and ensure that 'USB internet phone by Tigerjet' is installed.
If the video ran correctly, the next step would be to test your handset and phone cord at another location.
If you prove the handset/phone cord to be correct, you have pinpointed your fault to either the Magic Jack or its software. Contact online support for Magic Jack.

Are they connected via wifi or ethernet? Wifi could be slower due to the wireless connectivity of the computer but if you connect via ethernet you should be able to connect at the 12 Mb

The problem could be any one of the things mentioned below.

1) It could be that you need more memory. Check you laptop to see what is the maximum amount of memory it will hold and if you can upgrade it to more then do it. Click Start/Control Panel and look for System or System and Performance. Click it and it will tell you how much memory you have. You can go to the website of: http://www.4allmemory.com to see what is the total capacity your computer will hold.

2) It could be that the site you war watching the movie from is experiencing heavy traffic or their site is just slow. When you watch a movie in your dvd player does it stall? If it does it's your computer and you need more memory or you might have a virus or infection that is causing it to be slow and freeze.

3) Some internet service providers have different line speeds and you might have a slow line speed. For example, AT&T sells different line speeds and if you purchase the low end (cheapest) then your download and upload speed will be very slow. If you are watching movies online then the streaming (downloading) to your computer could be impacted by the slow line speed.

You can do a few things:

Reset the router by pressing the small button in the back for 15 seconds. You will need to reconfigure the router with the CD provided by the manufacturer.

Move your computer closer to the router. If you have a large house or the signal is weak, moving the router and/or computer for a direct signal will increase the speed of the connection.

9 out of 10 times, it is malware and/or a virus on the computer that slows down the connection.

plus one on the cooling fan problem. if it was low on charge then as you slow down, condensor temps and line prressures would raise therefore it would cool at low speed and and not when moving since the incoming air would drop system temp,reducing line pressure and then cusing compressor to cycle. the auxillary cooling fans must be on whenever a/c is on, if not, thats your problem. get this taken care of because if you get stuck in traffic, your engine will overheat also if fans are not running

Completely remove avg and re-install 8.5 see if that fixes the issue. Speed almost always has something to do with how much Ram you're running. Check your cashe' to be sure it's set high enough. Many anti virus programs are very comsuming of memory.

Seems that your carberator maybe clogged at the jets. However, before you purchase a rebuild kit for your carberator make sure the fuel flow coming out of the fuel tank has a steady flow. I have seen where the fuel hole or line at the tank becomes clogged. If you feel the the fuel flow is poor grab a wire type coat hanger and clean out the hole and fuel line. Also, check for fuel filters, replace it if you have one on the genset.

Update the firmware of your router. After doing the update, you need to reset the router by pressing the reset button at the back for 20 seconds then power cycle it.

= try this to check your computer speed (at first checked all the connections the mdoem . computer. filters and cables ) 1. delete all the cookies and files on the computer 2 . disable the firewall and antivirus on the computer 3 . poweroff your modem ,router (if any) and computer and after 1 minute start them in the same serial 4. now again check thwe speed of your computer 5. if their is no result then contact your service provider definatly their is some problem in the lines
