Most likely the radio itself has to be set to aux input. For instance my pioneer deck naturally has two source settings, cd and tuner. But in the settings I have the option to turn aux input on and then have that added to the sources. You'll probably have to look up how to turn it on from a manual.
This unit does not have iPod video capabilities only audio, If you want to view video from your iPod you can get a universal cable that would charge it and also give you a audio and video output, this cable needs to be powered and grounded and hooked up to one of the radio audio video inputs. This link will take you to it.

To be working the ipod need to be hook up with the cable cd-1200 (not sold with the avh)and to be plug to the ipod plug on the back of the radio..if you plug the ipod on the usb it wont do..the cable is around 30 $ ..it is the good way to play your ipod ..but if you have a ipod touch 2 generation like i have it wont charge ..if you have any other ipod it will be charging when in use..
when me and my friend installed his pioneer, the same thig happened and it was because we plugged in his wire harness upside down, check that out, its probably just something little like that.
ok for the first post with the ipod not showing video .. make sure that you have the correct cable running from behind the deck to the ipod .. (iPod Direct Control (CD-I200 Required) once you have that connected you need to go to the video settings of your ipod and turn on the video out .. by default its offf... also remember with movies on your ipod .. that has to be manually selected from the ipod itself .. you cant control the videos from the pioneer unit.. only the audio/music on your ipod can be selected from the pioneer unit..
