The red light on the front periodically will start flasing and the picture goes off. It is progressively getting worse.

From your descrition the problem is the picture tube, over a period of time the guns build up crud reducing the emission on the front screen which in turn causes fading and progressively gets worse until viewing becomes impossible. One possible solution is to have the picture tube rejuvinated by a tv tech to buy more time out of the set, but the improvement may last a few days to several months or more.

Sounds like a power supply problem. I worked for a short period for Panasonic at their USA plasma R&D / small scale manufacturing facility and learned that to "ignite" or start the plasma when turning on the set, a significant current discharge is required.

The recycling seems to indicate that the "brain" in the set realized that a plasma has not been established, and it is attempting to recharge the starting circuit. The flashing power light is probably significant and a trained technician or a service manual will probably identify this as a trouble code pointing to the problem. Sorry, I did not have any exposure to the finished product and cannot advise what the code means.

If the set is still under warranty, you should act immediately and get the problem taken care of, because it will not go away on its own, and will most likely get worse. Sorry the news is not better. Good luck!

Hi,

error Code 05/06 is usually Hard-Drive related.
The drive has been left unlocked, or shutdown powered off while a game-save is in progress.
The xbox only boots with the Hard-drive is locked, Otherwise it will Frag ( red/Green on startup )

you may want to try to reconverge the picture there should be a control button on your remote to readjust the picture
