I have a Neptune TL washer model number FAV6800AWWand I am experiencing problems with the spin cycle. It does not go through the cycle completely and just stops, unlocks the door.
Hello bucknerkim,
Take a look at this post Clutch repair post and see if you can DIY… I will help you. Thank you for posting your model type.
The FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
Try the TDS check first’ from the Service Manual slightly modified;
Tub Displacement Sensor Diagnostics check.
It is possible the Tub Displacement Sensor may have failed try this check which is in the Troubleshooting guide stored in your washer console or refer to the SM. This done thru the lid.
a. Enter Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”
b. Press the Super Wash key display reads “in”…something like that.
c. Press Delicates the Display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).
d. Push tub to the back right corner of the machine the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).
e. Press Hand Wash.
f. Pull tub to the front left corner while pushing the tub down the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).
If you get these results your TDS sensor should be just fine.
You can pump out the excess Tub water with this process from the Service Manual;
I would go to page 16 of the SM lower right hand part of page, Board Output Test and turn on the drain pump in service mode to pump out the tub.
Enter Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”
Pressing the Delicates key will lock the lid. Now press the Presoak key the drain pump will turn on. Turn off the drain pump with twith the off button or hit the Presoak key.
Post back if you have questions or concerns….Rich

Jose,
I'm an owner of three FAV6800A machines and I'll respond to help because you want to roll up your sleeves and try to save your $1K machine.
1st No direct links Google this Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW
In the Sticky: Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW 5 post down you will find a link to the Service Manual. You absolutely need the Service Manual to DIY issues with the machine. It's not the best SM but will get you started. I also have repair post in that sticky to help with the most common issues that I have helped owners with.
Post in that forum your machine Model which I assume is an FAV6800A (LED Console) or FAV9800A (LCD Console)
Include the first two digits of you machines model number. That is the series of your machine.
Give a description of the issue as you did here. I hope the grinding is during wash/agitate if so it may be something as simple as tumbler removal to clear out debris. If the grinding is in Spin Cycle it could be a bit more work like Outer Tub bearing failure.
The Forum in my opinion is geared more toward the DIY owner as I am and as you sound. The forum is free like this and my support is free..........Good Luck D*ick
If you machine is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A don't worry about the last two letters of the model number.
Google this; Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW
This is a DIY Appliance repair forum and you can get the Service Manual and repair support at that site..

If you need help post in the Maytag/Magic Chef/Admiral/Jenn-Air forum with your issue and we will try to help.
I need a bit more info to help.
If you can confirm the model number to make sure we are discussing a FAV6800A or FAV9800A?
If we are can you put the machine in a Spin Only cycle and tell me the machine will complete the cycle with a wet load. If it doesn't complete the Spin Only cycle is there any banging of the wash tub in spin cycle? Is there any error code to Console LED (FAV6800A) or LCD (FAV9800A)?
If you want to investigate further I would suggest getting the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual.
Google this ""Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW""
This is a sticky for the FAV6800A/FAV9800A washer DIY support. Go to the 5th post down in the Sticky and you will find a link for the Service Manual.
If you want to go further in troubleshooting and possibly a DIY fix just open a new thread in that DIY forum with Model number and Serial number. That info is found tag behind the console right back side as you face the machine console.
I no longer post on this site no way to post a Sticky.
If you want to DIY the repair Google this phrase ""Sticky: Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW""" Read the post Part 1; DC or UC unbalance error codes in Spin Cycle what is causing this issue? Part 2 for the fix action.
Post your issue in the repair forum not in the Sticky. Please include your Model Number i.e. FAV6800A or FAV9800A and I will help you.
