I can not use an extern monitor in windows 7. No video signal to the port. Driver for videocontroler is not valide.

You typically have to right click the desktop and go to screen resolution to enable the secondary screen so the image will display.

How do I replace the fan in my Fujitsu Lifebook S7020 or find instructions to do so?

I found this in my archive, it is not the S7020 but it is the S7010. I believe they have the same case design, so this will most likely work for you. It is a aolor picture guide to the disassembly of the laptop.

Fujitsu Lifebook does not boot up

Have you tried draining the static on your computer?

Turn off the computer
remove the battery and adapter
press and hold the power button for 1 minute
plugged back in the adapter and battery
turned on the computer

if not resolved:

tried using an external monitor and connect to your computer to check if you can have a video on the external, if yes it is possible an LCD issue

Also, you may try using a flashlight in your LCD and check if you can see any, if none?

I suspect possible LCD issue.

Turn on as you did before and leave on for 10 minutes. Then, try turning OFF the computer by keeoing the POWER button pressed for 7 secons. If the computer goes off, then your screen is fried and the computer is actually booting up normally... you just can't see it ;)

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook s7020 with no backlight. The display is showing everything but it's hard to see because there's no backlight. Everything is also fine with an external screen. I have a...

The Inverter board must be tested and eventually replaced. The inverter is the small board located at the base of display. This is connected to one side to the backlight lamp, to which supplies AC high voltage, and on the other side to motherboard, where receives DC voltage.

Inverter contacts to otherboard and to lamp must be tested , using a multimeter to read volts. The inverter is an AC board, and for safety reason the test must be done by a trained repairer.
If the inverter is OK check the contacts to motherboard and wiring harness to motherboard..

Also ensure that light is not just dimmer because energy save mode is on, or because the laptop is running on batteries.

Lifebook S7020 No backlight

Take the laptop to your nearest computer repair shop to have the inverter replaced.

It is situated underneath the LCD panel and converts DC electricity to AC to power the backlight of the LCD.

This shouldnt cost much to replace - around £40/£50
