Question about Toshiba TZ50V51 50" Rear Projection Television

I have a Toshiba rear projection TV model # 50H71 for about a month the tv would randomly pop off (lose sound and picture) for about 45 seconds and then come back on now th picture is reduced in size by about 8" on allsides and the sides are concaved with several ghost images in different colors is this a lamp or some thing else?

If the TV looks zig zag or scrambled and its moving aroudn the screen the hypermodule has failed.
If however it looks 3D or warped and is not moving around the convergence is the issue. You can get DIY repair kits including all parts, instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

The TV has a convergence problem; the IC’s for that circuit will need to be replaced. The cost for this repair runs around $450.00 or more.

Replace the defective Convergence Output IC Part Number
23905094 (STK392-110) using the revised “T” version IC Part Number
23135090 (STK392-110T). When Convergence Output failure is
detected, it’s recommended that both IC’s be changed to the “T” type IC
version. Inspect the Convergence Output IC’s for the “T” type version as
shown in Figure 2. Replace the Convergence Output IC’s using the “T”
type version Part Number 23135090 (STK392-110T).

Make sure the updated parts are installed:

Replace the defective Convergence Output IC Part Number 23905094 (STK392-110) using the revised “T” version IC Part Number 23135090 (STK392-110T). When Convergence Output failure is detected, it’s recommended that both IC’s be changed to the “T” type IC version. Inspect the Convergence Output IC’s for the “T” type version as shown in Figure 2. Replace the Convergence Output IC’s using the “T” type version Part Number 23135090 (STK392-110T).
