I bought an Emerson Jumbo Universal Remote and cannot get it to turn off my Directv control box. I know I'm doing it correctly because I got it to work with my RCA tv, RCA vcr and my Magnavox DVD player with no problem...incidentally my DVD player previously only responded to the original remote, I couldn't program it to operate the DVD. I have done the automatic code search at least 3 times on both of my Directv boxes (D10-300 & D11-100) with no luck. The codes printed in the manual are 200-217. How long should I try to program this? Is it a lost cause? Please help!

Today is 12/26/11 and Emerson appears to be closed over the holidays. They're hours are posted as: Toll-free: 1-800-909-1240 (between 9:00 - 4:00 CST) However, they are located in New Jersey. I have done some research on this subject and the bad news is the only remote that will work is the ones that can learn the code from the directv remote that came with the receiver all others will not work.
The Emerson Jumbo Remote does not appear to work with the Directv box, and worse, no customer service number or website is listed in Emerson's instruction manual!
