Dryer worked fine one load, then no heat the next.
thought it might be the element, so took the panels off and in the process of cleaning out the lint, discovered that one of the power wires had come off the element housing. replaced the spade connector and works fine.

Heating eliment is most likely burned out. Better off getting new dryer. But if that is not an option then call a repair person that can replace the heating element.

Dryer taking to long to dry

Overloading
1. One of the simplest problems to remedy could simply be that you are putting too many items inside the machine during the drying cycle. Avoid overloading your dryer, as this might cause your dryer to work extra hard to dry your clothing, extending the length of the dry cycle.
Wrong Heat Setting
2. A common issue with clothes dryers could be the wrong heat setting. Most home dryers feature several settings, from low heat settings to high heat and permanent press. Be sure the setting you choose is right for your needs. Another setting to check is the load size of your dryer. If you are drying a large amount of clothes, be sure the setting for large loads on high heat is selected. Choosing the wrong heat setting or load size can cause your clothes and linens to take longer to dry.
Lint Trap
3. One of the simplest fixes for drying issues might just be that your lint trap is clogged. Each time you use your dryer, lint will form in the trap. If the lint trap and vents are full, this could block air going into your dryer and slow down if not completely stop the drying process. After you use your dryer, remove this lint trap and empty it fully. Even if the lint trap is full, your other dryer vents might be clogged as well.
Clogged Vents
4. If your clothes are in the dryer for a long amount of time, but still not drying, the reason for this could be a clogged vent. A sign that your vent is clogged is if your clothes are warm or hot to the touch after sitting in the dryer, but still damp. To unclog your dryer vent, you may need professional assistance. This is especially necessary if your dryer vent leading out of the house is particularly long.
Heat Source
5. If the dryer is not getting enough heat to dry your clothes, something could be wrong with the heating system. After the drying cycle, touch your clothes to see if they are warm. If not, this means that the heating mechanism is malfunctioning. It will need to be repaired or replaced by a professional.

I have a whirlpool dryer and the heating eleiment is getting hot but the dryer inside is barley warm

Inside of the dryer gets warmed up when the drum rotates as there is circulation of air. Hope your clothes are drying. If it takes long time then clean the screen filter as it gets clogged with the flint from clothes. As a matter of routine clean this filter every time you use it before starting the drying process.

Our dryer is not drying as it has in the past. Have checked the vent, drum rotation and heat, but still does not dry clothes properly. Any suggestions?

If the vent and the heat are fine then the only other thing that could be going bad is the timer motor. The timer motor tells the dryer how long to heat the clothes.

Creda Dryer not working - just rotates no drying

IN FIRST INSTANCE DONT JUST SWITCH OFF APPLIANCE - REMOVE PLUG FROM SOCKET AS WELL.
On rear of dryer their is a panel - under this panel lies the heater assembly and two protectors (TOC'S) it is more than likely that one of these has failed - Test with meter to find which one..

FRIDGIDAIRE GAS DRYER MODEL # GLGR642AS2 IS NOT DRYING CLOTHES BUT GAS IS IGNITING. THANK YOU. DON

Hi Don,
So let me get this straight, you are getting heat from the gas burner and the drum rotates but your clothes remain wet? You can check a few basic things to identify where the problem lies.. First off, have you checked the lint trap and cleaned it? Secondly, have you checked your vent system ( meaning : are you sure it is not clogged anywhere in the duct or at the end where it exits outside? If that's OK.. when your system is drying clothes.. do you get hot air flow at the end of that duct? If not, your blower may not be working ..You need to move that hot air out of the tub for the system to dry. Heat, Motion to move clothes, air flow from the blower and an unimpeded path via the vent duct to outside.. Hope one of these things to check gets you going. Regards...

Mytag Dryer ModelLdg4000Aw

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.
