And when you run it, click the checkbox for "Format Data Area." When the message comes up saying you want to delete all the files, click "yes-" it's worth deleting all your songs if it works properly afterwards.

What I would recommend you to do is to plug in your device to your computer and format it..There might be some files that are corrupted..Formatting the device will delete all the songs you have in your device...After you format it, your problems should solve... I hope that helps Thank you
The songs are in the wrong format - it does not recognize iTunes songs or DRM-encrypted songs which do not have "transfer rights" (many msuic services - especially free ones but also paid ones - give you WMA's that have "play rights" -i.e. you can play them on your computer; but if they do not have transfer rights, they will show up in your player, yet not play correctly/skip).
Transfer only songs that are in Mp3 Format and you will never have this problem.
