Does the pink cable that says parking has to be connected to the parking or it could be in any other power cable with a switch

I can only add that you should check your Brakelights to see if they are working. You may have worked on the wrong part.

They use a safety switch usually on the Brake pedal lever and it unlocks the circuit. If you do not get a Brakelight signal, the gearshift will stay in Park.

This interlock is a Trilogy: Brakes, gearshift, and Ignition switch. They are adjusted or "timed" to free up or lock when all 3 are in sync. The ignition switch is suppose to give you trouble when the other items are malfunctioning.

Check your Brakelights, then fix or align that switch, and then you may have to try to align what you fooled with.

do not connet the pink wire to the breke system , i connected to the ground cable (black and pink together) and it play perfect you drive you see

Hi, you can take something to pop up the cover around shifter were you can see were the cables connect to shifter the lock is on left side of shifter i think it is pink . Turn the key to run position don't start car push brake pedal and see if brake lock cable is pushing pink clip in to release shifter to move out of park . If not push in with your hand and see if this don't let you come out of park. A lot of times the pink clip and bracket will break,if this is the case you will have to replace shifter assy.It is very easy to replace. Thanks if i can help you further re post.

you can try to locate the wire right at the ebrake itself. there will be only one wire attached at the base of the lever... but you can also try to connect the wire direct to ground and see it that works for ya

I just installed the vm8013hd and I simply grounded the pink parking brake wire to the chassis prior to connecting the power to the unit and it works just fine. No bypass box, switch, codes, etc. Good luck

all u do is hook the pink wire up to the grownd wire and it will play while your driving

I popped the ring off around the shifter. I have a 2008 Sebring. Inside the shifter are two pink colored pieces of plastic. I used a screwdriver to the one on the left and pushed it back towards the rear of the car. I pushed as far back as I could go and the shifter went out of Park as easy as could be. for the uv8 to bypass the parking brake to watch dvds you have to take the pink wire and put one end to one of the screws on a two screw toggle switch connect the other end of the pink wire to the other screw and connect that to the black ground wire
