If the status led is blinking yellow its indicating that the filter cover on the side is open. If its the lamp indicator thats blinking yellow its indicating the lamp door cover isnt attached properly.

Hi slittle, my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. You have a power failure in one or more of the circuits. When you turn it on, it goes into standby mode, (safety mode), (protection mode). Sony has a blinking code they go by, depending on how many times the light blinks. Its called a Self Diagnostics Test. The TV will shut off to protect it from further damage. Hello well this kind of problem all the time is because you have a fan problem and you could have dirt inside of your tv and sounds also like a ballast problem i have this issue also and I got connected on the live chat that a web say has that they call discount-merchant they sell parts and lamps for TV they could help you they help me twice.

how many times is the power light blinking as thats a error code. 3 blinks is the most famous which means convergence circuit failure.

JVC TV lamp indicator light blinking new lamp

if you purcased a LTI lamp then the possibilty of a bad lamp may be the case. LTI lamps are cheap and are poorly manufactured. if it is a JVC lamp then you may have further problems such as lamp balast, or thermal sensor. clean the fans and filtersfor better air flow. keeping the lanp cool is important for the life of the lamp.

Tv turns self off when turned on

Does it blink a certain amount of blinks pause a second or just blink constantly with no pauses? Let me know it will blink a code if its going into protected shutdown. And it will blink constantly for another reason.

How many times does the light blink. It should blink a code 1-8 blinks pause a second then blink the code again. Count the blinks then let me know. If it just blinks constantly without pausing. let me know that as well.

I would suggest if you haven't done so alreay is replace the projection lamp. The symptom you are describing indicates a failing lamp. The lamp part number will be located on a orange and white sticker on the side and it will say LAMP CODE and will start with a number of BP96-. If the sticker is missing then you will have to remove the lamp from the TV and get the number off of the cage of it. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks....
