Panel periodically acting up - says there is a short in the panel

Timer panel periodically starts beeping and the message says a short in the panel has been detected but that the microwave can continue to be used. What causes this and is it economically feasible to replace that panel?

F3 code

An F3 error code indicates that the keypad for the control panel is bad or has a short. This will cause the microwave to beep continuously after the set clock message appears.
On many models of microwave oven means a problem with the touch panel, (tact switches).

Replace the switch panel to fix the fault.

Hope this helps.

Our GE Profile started beeping and flashing f 3. None of the buttons will work now.

This code will occur if a shorted key panel is detected continuously over 60 seconds. Replace key panel (also called touch pad). Once the key panel is replaced, the issue will be solved.

LG microwave LMVM2075ST panel started acting crazy after I cleaned it. Will not do anything if I push a button except beeping noises. Any suggestions as to what is going on with this machine? Should I try...

liquid probably has entered keypad laminate; causing a short. unplug unit, direct warm hairdryer to entire keypad; plug back in; and hope for the best. if no luck; replace keypad. also never spray anything directly onto keypad; always clean with a moistened towel with light force.

Microwave is beeping with F3

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Whirlpool RMC275PD microwave won't start

I would first suggest unplugging the oven for a few minutes to give it a reset. On Whirlpool brand microwaves, you will hear a series of beeps when you hit START if one of the following is true: - the control panel is not programmed correctly - the door is not shut - there is a problem with the door latch system - there is a problem with the control panel If you do not have your owner's manual, you can download it here: http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/literature_search_results.jsp?searchTerm=RMC275PD#literror It doesn't sound like the control panel is locked. When the control panel lock is activated, you will see "Loc" and a lock symbol in the display and only the clock, timer, and oven light will operate. If that does not solve the problem, then you have oneof the other problems as listed above. If you need further help, please reply / add a comment here.
