I CAN STORE SONGS ON MY MP3 PLAYER BUT I CANT HEAR THEM
I had the same problem as well. you can try to format it and then reload your Base Mp3 player with songs again. That worked for me.

I managed to delete the files that no longer had shortcuts, but i had to do it the long way. Try syncing a different song to the device, as it automatically reloads the database. Hope this helps.
