Please first make sure that there is nothing within the video camera that was accidentally lodged into the space where the tape would fit.
Also, please double check that you're orienting the video tape properly when inserting it into the video camera. I would also test different tapes to see if the issue is consistent.
Also, you might have to rewind each tape because I think if the tape is at it's end, then it automatically leads to the tape being spit out.
I had a similar problem last few days with my ZR60. The problem I had was that the tape won't eject and on repeated attempts to eject it would eject as if it had a mind of its own. I was messing with it a little bit and realized that the door was not opening fully. Being a delicate item I didn't realize that I was not fully opening the door may be because there was a little friction in the pivot pins or what ever. Try to gently swing the door open fully and see if it helps. Since I discovered this problem I tried 10-12 times, and every time it would eject the tape and load it. I was almost going to give up this camcorder last night thank GOD, I am able to use it. Good Luck to you.
close the tape load door and with your fist, wack it. worked first time for me. the instructions were to wack it harder each time until it closes with the tape. Look up FONZIE FIX.
The best way to get it out is take it to a camera shop of Best Buy. They didn't put a manual eject on the player. If you take it into a shop they should know what to do.
Once it's out clean the heads with a DV tape cleaner.
If you can get a head cleaner in the machine during one of those tries, run it for 10 seconds and try a tape. If you know how to take the door off and how to clean a machine with head cleaner, I think this will solve your problem. Always use the same brand of tape. Each company has their own lubricant and mixing tapes will gumm up the insides and cause tapes eject problems. Videoteacher
The tape might be wrapped around the head or the capstan. The mechanism is delicate so you risk more damage by trying yourself - check with some of the repair shops on the Fixya home page for prices to remove the tape.
The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack.
Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening the cassette compartment cover. When the cover is fully open, the videocassette will eject automatically.
Please try the following procedures.
1. Attach the power source to the camcorder correctly or use a fully-charged battery pack.
2. Fully-open the cassette compartment cover until it stops while sliding and holding the OPEN/EJECT switch.
The videocassette will eject automatically after a few seconds.
If the videocassette still will not eject, seek assistance from a Canon Service Facility.
