You need to open your printer window and clear all your documents. Either go to start, settings, printers and faxes. Double click on your Dell 720, click on the file menu and click on cancel all documents. If necessary, after you do that, you can restart your computer. Then go back to start, settings, printers and faxes. Right click on your computer and click on properties. When the properties window opens, click on print a test page. If you cannot print a test page, then you need to check your printer install.
Let me know if you can print a test page after you go thru this process.
You have change the toner save mode first, in the printing window you have a properties options in that you change the mode of printing, if you turn off the toner saver mode in the properties option you can print the documents in normal, dark printing formats. Thank you.
it's not a pritner problem. u need to chek word font's and font's colour setting but it's depand witch version u used and if every print are printed on faint grey colour yr refill cartige has a problem.. also do one thing go to pritnter setting do as grayscale. if u have any quary tell me..
Have you gone into printer properties when printing the item then click advanced check what the settings are on. Your default settings may be to print draft quality which produces faint picture because it uses dramatically less ink. If you need further assistance let me know. Also a brand new printer of higher quality can be purchased for around 30$. So repair is definitely not a viable option if it is not a setting problem. Thank you, lee
Your post "...it prints very faint horizontal lines in color..." is indicative that indeed your color printheads are clogged and would need repetitive deep head cleaning. This is of course would require that you keep on cleaning until such time as the faint color lines have turned to legible print.
I got the printer to print envelopes again.
I completely uninstalled the printer, then reinstalled it by simply pluging the USB connection in.
After I had first uninstalled it after the envelope problem started I had been using the 720 printer CD to reinstall it, and it still wouldn't print envelopes.
I looked for and found the printer installition instructions and saw that I didn't need the CD to install it. (It was causing a software conflict).
The Dell 720 Printer came with my Dell Dimension E310 PC new and the printer software was already on the hard drive. All I had to do was plug in the USB cable, and the printer was up and running like new again.
Don't forget, if you don't want Dell to monitor your printer use, DO NOT check the box to allow that when it comes up during installation, other wise you'll get that icon showing up.
Hope this helps. Chuck
