Dell Inspiron 1525 keeps overheating and switching off.

Hi, I have DELL Inspiron 1525 laptop. It has some serious cooling issues, the fan goes crazy and the laptop switches itself off. It has an Intel core 2 duo T8100 processor, is it possible to replace just the fan or does the fan and processor come as a single unit.

Only do this if you feel competent in doing so.

Pulling apart laptops is not for the faint of heart.

If you really must do it there are some
good guides here
.

An alternative is to get a can of compressed air used to clean computers. Put the nozzle on and spray it in every hole you can see without putting the nozzle itself inside the laptop.

Do this outside with glasses on.

You may also want to remove the hard drive and ROM drive.

Take a
peek here for more ideas of what is involved.

There are a few are tips for various things in there.

DON'T touch the CPU cooler unless you know what you are doing and have some thermal grease for CPUs to hand.

To make newer laptops last longer between cleaning a good 3 fan cooling pad is suggested.
never use a laptop on soft surfaces as the ventilation can act as a mini vacuum cleaner and encourage dirt build up.
Soft surfaces also block the vents causing fans to run more and burn out sooner.

Hope this gives you the information you need

The fan is a separate unit and is attached to the heat-sink assemble. Check to see is the heat-sink fins are not blocked with dust, if so remove the dust and the problem could go away. You may also provide extra cooling by placing the laptop on a fan assisted cooling pad, which blows air to the underside of the laptop.

I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop it suddenly gets switch of after every few hour of working , my system detect it as bluescreen problem , so tell me what to do with this bluescreen problem ?

May be ur cooling fan is not working n its getting shutdown due to overheating. Try to get it cleaned or replaced at local pc mechanic. Won't cost much. Otherwise it may be ur motherboard is about to die. Get backup whenever it is up.

I have dell inspiron 1525 laptop my laptop is heat and automatic off after 1hour please give solution.

Hi I am Steve, lets fix your issue.
The most likely cause of the overheating is that your input fins for the fan are blocked. To fix this you need to get a can of compressed air, then take the back off the laptop (usually 4 or 5 screws holding it on and using the can of compressed air blow the debris away from the fan and the air input. If the air inputs are excessively blocked you may need to unscrew the fan assembly (usually 3 screws) and lift it out of the way to clear the debris from the air input.

I have a dell inspirion 1525 and it over heats and shuts down all the time

Check the fan in the vents if they are still working, if yes, clean them, you can do it with a can of compressed air.

If the fans are not spinning anymore, you'll have to replace them.

Our Dell Inspiron laptop turns off after about 1 hr of use

Does it switch off when you are keeping the system idle ? then it could be something related with power management. Else if its switching off check the processor temporature and the fan speed variation. If the fan is not working properly you could experience the same, else could be a virus issue too.

Dell error code 0141

Error code 0141. Msg: Error code 2000-0141. Msg: No drive detected.

This is caused by the intel chipset overheating.
Your drive is usually ok, but the chip controlling the drive is too hot to function properly. Try blowing your CPU fan out with compressed air, then start using a laptop cooler to keep it cool and this problem should go away.

If you attempt to repair yourself, you will void the warranty.
