Hello I am currentyl operating the hp pavilion dv5-1125nr notebook and the volume button located in the very front center directly above F7 and F8 is broke and keeps beeping... Can I mute the sound somehow? I tried uninstalling the Quick Touch program but that only ended up with a default sound to replace the original one...

Try uninstalling the sound driver and then installing it again, it should definitely stop the beeping

No sound on my HP Pavilion dv4000 notebook, how do i install sound processor

Sound processor is built in to the machine.

Above the keyboard is a row of buttons - look for the one that has a loudspeaker symbol followed by a circle with a diagonal line through it - that is the mute button. Press it to mute/unmute. There are two other buttons for volume up and volume down.
