Well you are prob incorrect. Computer components are very vulnrable to power surges. Especially video cards. If you do not have both computer and monitor plugged into a suppressor or protector, more than likely it is your motherboard, video card, or cpu.

Since you don't have audio drivers installed, I'm assuming the Operating system has been reinstalled. In which case you may have more drivers than just your Audio driver missing.

its not exact. its not made for compaq by asus so bios has to be used from asus site not compaq. it wil fit in it and run but drivers and support is no longer a compaq
Sata drives don't have an option to be master/slave like IDE drives, b/c the Sata cable is per device. If the computer's not pulling up the sata drive, open device manager (right click my computer, properties, hardware tab, device manager) and look for a yellow question mark. You'll have to install drivers for it more than likely.
Goto Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management.
Right click each drive to assign new drive path.Save & reboot.
Check My computer for changes
