I left silicone guard on grates and put on self cleaning. My oven is now filled with a white powder.

Thank you for your inquiry, Cheryl!

I understand that you left the silicone guard on the grates and turned on self-cleaning, now you have white powder inside of your Frigidaire range. This can be removed by using hot water, baking soda, and a non-abrasive cloth. It may take elbow grease in order to remove the white powder. I would recommend not using the oven until you have removed the white powder. I hope this information is helpful for you. -Matt

No manual. Hit the clean button and 15 minutes it caught on fire. Hit the cancel

It probably caught fire because to much crud was built up inside probably from not cleaning often enough. I assume there were not flames but just a lot of smoke, try again but watch it carefully. Some ovens are damaged by oven cleaner so I would get a manual first to be sure using that would be OM.

Milk leaked out into the back seat our truck I didn't know it until it started to smell. Iv'e sprayed nearly a whole bottle of febreze for fabric on it. while it is wet with the spray you can't smell the...

Try baking soda.
Take a box or two of it and sprinkle it all over the area where the milk was.
Leave it for up to week, and be careful to keep it dry.
Later on, you can vacuum up the "dust".
God bless your efforts.

How do you clean a self-cleaning gas oven?

If it's one with pyrolytic oven coatings then you empty the oven and turn the oven to maximum for about three hours.

The linings will get hot enough to burn deposits to a light ash residue which you can then wipe off with a damp cloth when the oven has cooled down.

Some modern ovens have a self-cleaning setting on one of the controls. All it does is to automate the process and to lock the oven door until the cycle has completed.

Note that you will smell the fumes as the oven self-cleans and they can set off any smoke alarms you have. Also, if the oven is really filthy and thickly caked in grease then the pyrolysis will not be fully effective. Note that oven shelves and other metal fittings and also door glass are not pyrolytic and any deposits will get baked on, so clean those separately first. Really stubborn deposits will come off using a caustic-soda based cleaners, but you must wear suitable protective gloves, glasses and clothing and exercise extreme care when using them as caustic soda burns are far, far, worse than acid burns.

How to clean oven model JSP46D P1BB

That model is self cleaning . So you have to remove the oven racks and press the button marked self clean. The self cleaning cycle will last anywhere from 2-4 hours . once the oven unlocks after the cycle is over you have to wipe the surface with a clean clothe. It is very important to never use regular oven cleaners (i.e. Easy Off ) in a self cleaning model. If you need to spot clean something without using the Self cleaning mode you can make a paste of baking soda and water and let it sit for an hour before wiping.

As far as the top is concern, use a mild soap and a dish cloth on an everyday basis. There is products specifically designed to clean the ceran tops (good brands are "Cerama Bryte" and "CookTop", they are available at any Wal Mart) you should use one of those cream cleaner at least once a week. If something is really baked on , you can use a razor blade ( same ones ones used to removed paint off windows) or a scotch brite pad ( the blue one only.. the yellow one is too abrasive)

you can try rinsing down the area with a combination of white vinegar and baking soda, but a better solution would be to buy natures friend from a pet supply store, it has enzymes that actually neutralize cat odors.

I have baked on aluminun foil on the bottom of my self clean oven did the cycle to self clean and the aluminum foil is still stuck on the bottom what can I do to remove it without ruining the surface

If the bottom of the oven is enamelled or has a pyrolytic self cleaning surface then you can use caustic soda to remove aluminium foil.

Many oven and hob cleaners contain caustic soda and those which do always advise that it's kept away from aluminium parts precisely because of it's effectiveness in turning aluminium into grey foamy goo!

If you're in doubt as to whether your oven floor is caustic soda resistant then try a small test patch first.

Please note that caustic soda is extremely corrosive so you'll need to keep your hands and arms covered and preferably use eye protection as well.

Self-clean not cleaning

I was wrong (I think).  the baking element probably was burnt out as the repairman said.  He replaced it and I thought selfclean still wasn't working.  In fact, I think I just had to give the self-clean function more time.  Also, I was judging by smell.  We have become used to a bad odor during self clean which was missing when it was broken and still missing after the repair.  Bottom line, the oven was clean after the baking element was replaced, sans smell.
